I don't think it's artistic, but it does portray a feminine ideal mostly lost in our time. Only a few women try to be like that- the archetypical "good wife". Always looking pretty and dolled up while still keeping it classy, and being able to look impeccable even while cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids.
Not saying all women should be like that, but I do strive to be that kind of wife for my husband.
none i just find it cute. what a great kitchen and dress!

Has dita von teese finally put her clothes on and become a good christian homemaker? The thing I like about the 50s was that women knew their place and stayed the kitchen and cooked everything with fresh ingredients not this microwave crap food we get now. *a call to all feminists get back into the kitchen and make me some pie*
I saw an article in the Guardian the other day written by one of their regular opinion writers entitled "Teaching my daughter how to cook does not make me a bad feminist." The fact that she had to write an entire article on that suggests that some can find anything offensive.
Wow lol this is ridiculous Everyone should know how to cook... Lol as someone who loves to cook and wants to own and operate a restaruant, I find this offensive because it makes cooking seem feminine when in reality the best chefs on earth are men So if anything cooking should empower women lol
"Everyone should know how to cook..." No... Not everybody is interested in cooking don't generalize your case. My father is an architect who has his own company and works 70 hours a week. He doesn't have time nor interest for cooking. That's why my mother does it, since she works 40 hours a week and is actually good at it.
