Teen girls, why do you go after older guys?

I am 23 and work nights at a retail job to help start paying for studen loans. I am full time, so I am there all the time and know/ do more than any other hourly emplyee in this store s well. Anyway, I mostly work with high school kids and I feel like every girl in there goes crazy over me, not to sound too egotistical...

I was asked to prom last year, I get them asking for 'help' all the time and the other ngiht one cornered me int he back and surprised me with a kiss (yes it was a surprise, I would never kiss a 16 year old). Anyway, these girls are 16-18, and even the ones who are 'legal' (an argument they like to use when trying to get me on a date) are just too young for what I want.

I asked 2 of them the other ngiht why they don't just flirt with the teen guys we work with, and they both said they like my confidence, power and AGE (and my beard lol).

Anyway, I just want to know why teen girls would go for someone 5 or 6 years older than them, I have done and seen so much more than them, don't you want a guy more on par with yourself?

I love this question because it's the same question i have. and i hope you don't string them along, it sounds like you don't and like your actually there to pay off student loans. But this type of behavior truly bugs me. That 16 year old could get you in a lot of trouble by cooking up some story saying you kissed her and made advances and blah blah.

I certainly an just there to make money. I mean I casually joke heavily with everyone at work regardless of gender, but I know the girls more often than not take it as flirting... I try to just avoid them because joking and flirting are too natural for me so I don't know I'm doing it most of the time.

Hard to be upset as a guy, reverse sexism lol I am easily twice their size, male and older- who would even believe me if I told them this happened to me in real life lol

But I feel like around 20, 5 years is a big deal... these girls still live at home and go to school. I have lived abroad, been through university, lived on my own for years, drink etc. I just feel like there is too much of a disconnect there.

I mean, as I said, they are very attractive, so I suppose I like it- but it scares me because they are so much younger than me more than anything.

but why wouldn't you want someone more similar to your level of maturity/ experience? Maybe I am just seeing it how I see it for myself though...

16 year old guys are significantly less mature than 16 year old girls. Perhaps it would be better for to go for someone who's 18 but they have targeted you haha. Just relax and enjoy the attention.

Opinion Owner is part right. Generally women prefer to date upwards in age. Look at the threads here where people are asked which age-range they would date and you will see girls almost never consider younger, but always older guys.

Things weren't different in the past and thus I think it is a biological thing. Women themselves are attractive simply based on youth, fertility and health. Men on the other hand have a lot of other attraction-cues which depend on your personality and can be developed - confidence, high social rank, etcetc. Thus for women older is prefered as it makes you more likely to have such attraction-cues developed.
