Not scared per se but skeptical. I am cute enough but average. And chubby. I know I have a great personality and energy that makes me more attractive.
But if someone seems "too attractive" for me I am more skeptical about their motives. And too attractive means looks and my other checkboxes. If you have all of them, I am skeptical. So they actually need to do a lot more for me to take them seriously. The same signs from a less attractive guy would be an automatic green light.
So make sure your interest will feel genuine and authentic to her. She might need a little reassurance. But you can't over compliment as it would make you seem like a player. You just need to be an active listener and show you have been paying attention to what she does and says.
This is what I am struggling with now. A bit of insecurity around a guy who I have been talking to and seems interested. He has lots of hot female friends and acquaintances. It is sort of an "is this too good to be true" feeling as he is attractive, we have lots in common, conversation is excellent, super nice, not arrogant and he is successful. No way he likes me... there must be so much competition. Or there is something seriously wrong with him.
I have no problems interacting with an attractive guy. And it up is really easy to flirt with one who us not my type or who I am sure is not interested. But as soon as it starts to look like you might be interested then I have more trouble being myself.

I, too, am very shy and consider myself "average" so if I caught a really attractive guy staring at me or showing any sign of interest, I'll be blushing like mad because it's flattering. The whole "he's out my league" thing comes into play. High school habit as I like to call it, haha. If it were me, if I were to be smiling or just obviously blushing, looking away but looking back to him, I'd be hoping for him to approach me with a simple hello and lingering around to ask how I'm doing. I'd know then and there that he is interested so I'll also contribute to the conversation and hopefully have a date with him. :)

Women often find attractive men unapproachable for the same reasons men find attractive women unapproachable.
Attractive men often capitalize on their looks to get more women, and tend to be "players". Women do not like competition, and will look for a man who they perceive will stay put. They may assume you already have a girlfriend, or aren't serious, or will cheat on them with other women.
A shy good-looking guy is VERY desirable. Just smile. Make her feel like she is the only girl for you.
To answer your question, YES. Not just "attractive" guys, but guys in general. But it's not really worse with attractive guys, just if I get the feeling that they like me, then I get really self-conscious. I even try to get a female cashier when I check out at a store because I feel shy around the men.

Yeah, I really don't know what to tell you. I guess if you like a girl, try getting to know her casually. Ask her questions like you are interested in her take on things, but don't say anything that would make her think you want to date her. After a while, she will feel comfortable/safe around you. This is good, you have given her space to know you and she can decide if she likes you. Once she feels comfortable around you, if she likes you, SHE will be the one asking your opinion on things, questioning you about your past, trying to talk to you, spend time with you, do nice things for you. Then you should know. Also if she talks to you about anything that's really personal... she likes you.

aaauuhhh... no, probably not if she has never talked to you before. Unless you can make it seem like you had a reason to be over there and are just talking to her because you guys happened to be in the same vicinity (like stuck standing in a line together, etc.). I guess the best way for you to approach a girl (at least a shy girl) is when you guys are hanging around other people too, just by starting out talking to everyone and then start talking to her exclusively.

I think your shy behaviour is the reason for this. Girls usually talk more with those who talk freely and approach to them first. If you want to talk remove your shyness and try to interact with them. Don't forget to crack jokes. Your attractiveness ain't the reason its a gift make a optimum use of it.

I am shy as well. If I see an attractive guy I'll look at him and run away, even if our eyes meet and I want to be approached. I just get so nervous. He would have to be direct and come talk to me because I usually can't make myself smile but i'll look at you. (I'm just weird)
Maybe if they make eye contact like for a long time or does maybe some kind of cute eyes winking lol or maybe she looks down to much and just can't look you in the eye but I don't know thats signs of her just being intimidated unless you make conversation with her not to personal either just maybe her name and if she would like to hang out sometime
To be honest I guess that I am, it usually comes from insecurities that we feel such as "why would a guy like that ever be interested in a girl like me" kind of thing. And the reason why I try to avoid talking to attractive guys is that when I'm attracted to someone my brain tends to go dumb and I end up saying the wrong thing and embarrass myself. Yeah, probably the reason why attractive guys are intimidating.

Lol well we don't know when men feel that way. It's just to avoid embarrassment, Lord knows that I would replay the situation over and over in my head if that happened besides if I was to date a super attractive guy I'd feel like he could do better (once again, insecurities) on that same train of thought girls will get paranoid thinking that he would rather be with a more attractive girl and therefore cheat.
As weell as for making friends I don't think it would work if a girl is attracted to you.
I can't speak for the rest but as of me, I have seen and met very handsome men and is not intimidation, is more of a self fear. Yes, the idea that that guy will reject any proposition is always there and the typical thought that "it's a good looking guy, he must have a girlfriend" is also there. Plus most good looking guys tend to be surrounded by very beautiful women and that always messes in the mind unless the guy is good looking and mature the story is different.
Yes, because I always get the feeling i'm less than them. I always get nervous and try to look nice but I most of the times fail so yeah. I'm always scared to talk to really cute and attractive guys (especially when they're older)

yea it is pretty much a gamble and as you say you are shy, so i know an even bigger gamble. But the best thing to do is approach a girl when she is alone and not looking too busy.

my parents are Mexican. and by dark I mean I seem "mysterious" and I think that puts them off. I have light olive skin and dark hair/eyes.

Girls are usually attracted to dark skinned Mexicans. Even if you might find yourself to be attractive, a good amount of girls wouldn't since they aren't attracted to darker guys unless the guys are black. The fact that you're a dark Mexican guy hinders your chances with girls.

I meant to say girls are usually not attracted to dark skinned Mexicans. I didn't say you were brown but most girls aren't open to dating Latinos unless they are light skinned. However, there are some who do like olive though, unlike brown.

Umm, I don't know that I have met a girl who doesn't like olive skin. I'm sure there are some out there, but definitely his skin tone isn't hindering him from getting girls.
