Let's talk about reading nonverbals from the opposite sex to help identify if she/he is into you before you invest the time, energy, etc. in approaching and doing yoga tricks to get them to go out with you!


I think it's pretty well established that non-verbal communication is critical. I've heard an array of different statistics.. non-verbals are 70% of communication, 85%, 90%... whatever it truly is, it's very high!


Disclaimer: This is not an exhaustive, comprehensive list. Please, please comment with additional insights! My female list probably is not the most accurate, especially since it varies person-to-person and I am, well, not a female.


How to tell He is interested


His pupils in his eyes are huge. Our pupils dilate simply because we see something visually attractive and want more of it, literally.


You see his front teeth. Whether from smiling, biting lip lightly, etc. we show our front teeth as an expression that we are happy and interested in what we see. The biting lip/watching your lips can also be a sign we want to make out, like right now!


He leans towards you. We physically like to be close to what we are attracted to.


He/She is Into you!! (Body Language)


He spreads his legs open towards you. Judge if you want, but it shows we want to connect with you and open ourselves to you.


He grazes your shoulder/back/arm. This as you can imagine, means we want to connect in a relatively loud/confident message.


He talks faster than usual. I know I definitely speak faster without thinking about it when I'm talking to someone I'm attracted to for the first time. It could be a sign of nervousness, but more so it's a sign that he is absolutely, completely attracted to you because his heart is literally beating faster, which seems to accelerate most other body functions.


He compliments you. If he is attracted to you, there's a list of things he would love to compliment you on all day long. We try to limit it so we don't come across inexperienced, but we can't hold back on several compliments. This is also a great time to preliminarily assess his intentions, is he complimenting your certain-body-parts? your personality? your ambitions? etc.


He is smiling and/or laughing almost constantly. We're trying to send a message that we are a fun person to be around, so that you'll want to spend more time with us.


He makes a clear effort to prolong the conversation. "Oh really?" "Yeah, so, so what do you like about that?" "I think so too, blahblahblah, what do you think about that?"


How to tell She is interested


Another disclaimer: This is based on my dating experience and simply what I have observed--I'm NOT trying to infer that many, many girls have fallen at my feet while I took notes.


He/She is Into you! (Body Language)



Her body is facing you/She is leaning to you.


She works to qualify herself: She agrees with many things you say, she laughs--even when you didn't really say something that funny lol. She works to relate herself to you and build commonalities.


She touches you, oftentimes teasingly. This is probably the only time I want to be punched by someone.


She uses pronouns, "we" and "us".


She talks about things you will do in the future with her.


She licks her lips, slowly. While talking with you.


She subtly pushes her boobs out towards you. (I'm serious about this, some girls do it)


She will play and/or rub her hair in front of you. It's truly amazing how consistent this is from girl-to-girl, in my opinion.


She stalks you on social media. Lots of girls do this surprisingly early on, not sure how you can tell if she is stalking you or not. But if you find out that she is, that's a very good thing!
