Girls, can you decipher this text from my ex?

She broke up with me 8 months ago. She friended me on Facebook like 3 months ago, I accepted, but then I unfriended her a couple days later. She's been texting me lately (I'm not attached) and she sent me this.

I didn't want to explain to her that I was trying to move on and that it helped me move on. I don't want her to think that I still care (I kind of still do). I've been extremely delayed at texting.. As you can see by the time stamps. It should be obvious to her that this was the reason for the unfriending.

Is is this a girl thing? I'm just so lost.

By the way, i think she has a boyfriend.

Guys may answer too if you have an idea.

Honestly, she sounds kind of like a tool (no offense). Sounds like she broke your heart and she wants you to still be in love with her, stalking her Facebook, and be like suuuuper excited that she's talking to you again. And if she's unhappy in her current relationship (or is single and lonely), it might be her way of testing the waters to see if you would still be interested in her.

She probably does know that you still have feelings for her and it's not a bad idea to wait to respond, but that might give it away even more. You could tell her it helped you move on to delete her. I honestly don't think it would help OR hurt the situation. Or you could just say "Isn't that what people do after breakups" or "I thought we were over" or something to that effect.

And yeah, girls will keep asking the same question over and over until they get the answer they want to hear- especially if they think they have the upper hand and you will cave in. And I totally do that with periods too haha 😂

Do what you feel is right, but guard your heart too. Sounds like she already ripped yours out... don't let her stomp all over it.

Thank you. I have actually come a long way from moving on. We haven't talked in months until she decided to text me yesterday. I've been moving on quite well though... I don't get upset with old pictures/cry/ or think of her a lot

Thank you very much. I'm blue. I've been taking a minimum of 30 minutes to respond.. and even though I take that long, it's been taking her about 2 minutes.

I was just wondering like why this mattered? Like why can't she understand why I had to unfollow her. It seems so obvious.. I was the dumpee and hurt

I think she was just eager to find out why you unfriended her. Maybe she wanted to remain friends? Or if she still has feelings for you make you jealous by what she post up on her timeline, in hopes that you want her back. I'm unsure in all honesty. I think I'm leaning more towards her wanting to remain being friends and being on good terms with you.

Based on my responses to her, I gave her no hint if I was or not. Since we dated for 1.5 years, I know for a fact that when she ends sentences with a period, she's either mad or upset.

Possibly so. I think her having you on her friends list on Facebook seems important. Maybe she wanted to be able to check up on you and see if you are feeling depressed or happy and that would be in reflection to the break up.

I don't see anything wrong able caring for her (I mean it's quite normal to care for an ex partner) if you want to move on from the situation you can tell her "I'm trying to move on that is why I unfriended you off Facebook. I care about you as a person, nothing more, nothing less, that chapter in my life is non-existent now" or you know whatever else you want to add or remove. It's nice to be straight forward to people.

Thank you for that. Well I actually don't get on Facebook much to be honest and the moment she starting dating someone else, I blocked her on all social media. Her and I follow eachother on tumblr.. I used to use that we my outlet, but then I didn't want her knowing how I felt so I stopped.

I have noticed that even though it's been 8 months since our breakup, I still see posts regarding me and it's obvious.

It would of made sense for you to remove her off social media when you guys split up but not during the time she is with someone else. She probably thinks that you still have feelings for her. Hence the text.

Yeah man I know how it goes. Another guy came into her life and I hated him. She wanted to be friends and I tried, but a time came where I ignored her for 3 straight weeks. Then she texted me one day and I ended up apologizing for ignoring her and I said I was ready to be her friend. After I said that, I swear we didn't talk for 2 months.. Until she messaged me yesterday... 😒
