Why my student stares at me?

I'm a college professor and I have a student in my class that always stares at me. I'm used to students looking at me during my lecture. But this woman is different. Sometimes I'm checking my email in the computer and once I turn, there she is staring at me with a smile on her face. The weird part is that once I look at her she looks away. The thing is that she always looks at me when I'm not looking. Everytime I've caught her she's smiling and looking at me and turns her look somewhere else really fast. Then I offer my help but she replies she doesn't need my help. Why she behaves like this?

Come on your not that old. Its like high school all over again. Its called a crush! She obviously has a thing for you and that's just how girls act. We can't help but stare at the guy we like but when they look at us cue the blush. We are too nervous to look at you. So you have the classic puppy love going on. Good luck with that!

Its sounds like that this is of legal age, but depending where you are could that be breaking the teacher's code? Regardless, you could give her some visual cues if you like her (assuming you do) but that sounds risky.

I'm not interested in my student in that way. I just want to comprehend her behavior because it's odd. Again, many things are easy to comprehend for me but women 🤔

Then you might want to make a plan of showing you don't like her, or its going to get more awkward. I'm with you of comprehending the other gender (guys for me) but you must recognize basic signs of attraction. Maybe do Karaoke one night :D

I think she likes you. I sometimes stare unintentionally at people when I'm lost in my thoughts. When they catch me I just smile and turn away quickly. But if she's looking at you ALL the time when you're not looking then she has a thing for you, either she likes you or she's attracted to you

She is infatuated and scared of you. You undoubtedly have a code of ethics which you are bound to follow. Does it apply after she completes your class? Do you have any interest in this woman as a partner for dating?

I like her but she's my student. The college rules don't allow sentimental bonds between professors and students. the thing is I can't quite tell what her intention is, or she stares?

Yes the rule apply until she transfer to a university or graduates this college.

She may be day dreaming or thinking about you doing something silly which causes her to smile. I wouldn't say women smile when they are watching someone they are checking out but it's possible. Usually if they are attracted and get caught starring then they'll shoot a flirty smile and look away.
