Do you girls like being approached in the street, during the day time, by a stranger (if he's respectful)?

I saw in another question, a statement from a user called "paulina_g" (  ) where she says: "I don't want to be approached on the street."

I wonder if that holds true for all girls. Sadly I don't like going out in clubs/bars and actually live in one of the Nordic countries, like paulina_g, so I really hope this isn't a popular opinion in the Nordic countries... but sure seems like it

i'm very pro approaching women pretty much anywhere as long as you're respectful. Just going to say this to the guys who may read womens responses here and be wondering "whoa, so many conflicting views by women... probably safer not to approach". If you're a guy, and you want to have a relationship with a woman one day, you can't afford to not approach. Understand that a good number of women don't live the same lives as you do or I do as a guy. Women can afford to be passive when it comes to dating, you cannot. Just wanted to put that out there

It's possible but it's a tricky one. During the daytime people are busy going about their business, so it's far from an ideal situation to approach. That said, in some places like a coffee shop, daytime approaching is still really good I think. But you have to be quick and confident, because people generally are on a schedule.

That's not what I meant. What I was trying to say is that in Sweden most guys, and people in general, tend to be more reserved compared to other countries. They mind their own business and rarely talk to strangers so it's very uncommon to get approached on the street. That's why it can be a bit awkward when it happens as it puts me off guard. I just don't know how to react in those situations but I definitely appreciate the effort. It just doesn't alway come across that way... Hope I made myself more clear now :)

Depends if he doesn't seem like a total serial killer. It happened once and I was so sure he was going to find me and kill me after I turned him down. It would catch me less of guard if the person started a conversation with me first about something random and generic, like current movies, or news. That way, I actually have a sense of the person (even curious), so I won't feel attacked by a psycho, and outright say 'no, I don't know you'.

Not usually especially when guys try to stop me when I am trying to get somewhere it's awkward. The last time this guy introduced himself just because we walked across the crosswalk together and I had just gotten back from the dentist so half my face was numb and I was hurrying to catch the bus and I didn't want to just ignore him so I ended up missing the bus :(

Honestly, I kinda like being approached by guys but 'approached' is not the same as disrespected. So when guys just randomly come up to me or in passing and say things like 'I really like your hair' or even some super cheesy (but not sexual) pick up line is really attractive, I personally think.

I think he would have to be very very tactful, for me to even give him the time of day. In an open public space with lots of people around would be ok. We would also have to have a common interest or something like that to give me enough to make me think its worth knowing this person more.

If it's natural, yes. If we are both at the same place, at the same time standing around (watching our kids at the playground or waiting for them at school, waiting for a bus or another source of public transportation, both checking out the same product at the store or both singing the same song at the same place - like a store or whatever) then sure either you strike up a conversation or I will, but to walk over to someone out of the blue just to hit on them... I wouldn't be interested.

It can be sweet if he is respectful and thoughtful, as well as not terribly pushy either. If a girl rejects you, just say: "Okay not a problem, have a nice day" And go. Don't push it and don't be a jerk about it. Most guys fuck it up by making the experience awkward.

Body language is important to read here. Is she focused on a book or on her phone? Does she look like she's in a hurry to get somewhere? If so, don't approach. On the other hand, is she up, looking around, maybe smiling at people? Then go ahead, as long as you're polite.

Honestly, I would love that. My self esteem is incredibly low, so if someone just walked up to me and called me some sweet name or asked for my number or something I would be ecstatic. I'd think it was some kind of prank at first, but after realizing otherwise I would be practically radiating with joy.

I've never done it literally in the street, but you need to do it in a "cute", funny/cheeky and imaginative way. Most girls will love it, even if they reject you, the effort makes them walk away with a big smile.

It depends. Unfortunately it's a relatively rare occurrence so it usually comes off as creepy.. but if you can find a way to do it respectfully I'd be okay with it.
