Why do girls get more followers and likes in general?

Ok so i made a male and a female account, used the faces of moderately attractive people for each and gave the same answers (re worded) on a total of 15 questions each and by the end of it the male account had gain nothing, while the female account had gained 10 followers.
Also on social media I've noticed girls always get more likes, there is actually a set of twins at my school who are both pretty attractive and opposite genders, the guy probably slightly more popular even and he gets half the likes she does.
why do you think this is?
