Do women ever play footsie unintentionally?

There was a case recently where there was one of my parents friends an older married woman opposite me during a meal with a group of my parents friends. She moved her legs against mine or put her foot on mine and didn't move till i move mine away a number of times id say 6 or 7 during the meal and her husband was on the other end of the table so she shouldn't have thought it was him.
Though It was while maintaining normal civilized conversation about topics like business and the economy and they had all been drinking?
I very obviosly don't and didn't want anything to happen on multiple counts large age difference , married and being one of my parents friends.
So is this something you might ever do unintentionally?
