I think it depends entirely on the individual.

People perceived as promiscuous may merely be confident with sexuality and in this case, are more likely to address relationship and sex problems head on before it escalates into cheating. They tend to be more in touch with their sexual desires and therefore, know if a monogamous relationship would not suit them right now.

Of course, there will be individuals who will be hard to contain in a relationship - even if they think they are. Reasons for cheating tend to be more complex and emotional than someone just feeling like more sex than with their current partner, as people may assume if its linked to promiscuity.

It depends whether someone defines a person as 'promiscuous' if they are careless with sex or just happen to have had a high number of partners - and again, this not necessarily equate cheating.

This isn't true. Sometimes people are just not in a place to be in a relationship whatever the reason might be. Sometimes women want to experience first because they want to know themselves. This has nothing to do if their loyal or not. A porn star can be loyal, a ex sex worker can be loyal, a girl who just slept with a lot of people can be loyal. What does it mean? They have experience, they know a few more things. As I say why would you jump into a relationship when you wanna sleep around? There's plenty of people out there who also want to sleep around. If you love someone you won't cheat, virgin or not, promiscuous or a prude.

No. In my experience just because you have had a lot of sex doesn't necessarily mean you'll cheat, especially if it was casual. Casual sex and being in a relationship are two different things; I'd be more concerned if they had a past history of cheating. If anything, choosing not to commit and having sex shows better character than getting in a relationship and then cheating - they aren't committing for a reason.

the thing to remember is that a person can be promiscuous but still 100% capable of a monogamous relationship if they choose to enter one. i would say that perhaps a promiscuous person is more likely to cheat btu i've been cheated on twice in relationships. both times by people who very much not promiscuous. whereas i dated on person who was promiscuous prior to us dating but never cheated or gave me any reason to not trust her

Perhaps, but I definitely think a someone who is not promiscuous but has cheated before is much more likely to cheat than someone who's promiscuous but has never cheated before. Promiscuity doesn't guarantee that they'd cheat on you and not being promiscuous doesn't guarantee that they won't.

Yes. not necessarily out of any lack of love for you. But a lot of the time one man just isn't enough. If a woman is particularly promiscuous. Then she's probably used to threesomes, foursomes and even orgies. So if you know she's promiscuous and she cheats on you, then its less likely out of any sort of maliciousness towards you and more because one guy just isn't enough for her..
It's for this reason i think monogamy, while admirable is ultimately unrealistic in this day and age.
