What does the sideways stare mean?

So there is this girl in my class and we have assigned tables for this class. However when my teacher told her to sit at my table she sat adjacent to me right in my line of view. So the teacher was explaining something and I was staring at the teacher and with my peripheral vision i could see her looking at me, or at least in my direction. Then I looked out of the corner of my eye and I saw her looking at me sideways. Her feet and torso were pointed towards me and her head was half turned towards me and half towards the teacher but she was staring at me sideways. After about 5 seconds i looked back towards the teacher but she was still staring. She also held me gaze when I looked at her out of the corner of my eye. Anyways after a few seconds of not looking back at her she started giggling for no apparent reason (I'm pretty sure she was trying to get my attention) and it worked and made me look back at her. I didn't mind her staring though because I kind of like her and she is really attractive haha. So what does the sideways stare mean?
