Do girls get tired of compliments?

I like to say nice things to guys and girls alike but sometimes when I compliment girls, they seem like they are tired of hearing them lol. I usually say things like "nice dress", "you look great", or say nice things about their talents or hobbies.

Well, most people place the highest value on compliments that come from people whose opinion matters to them. Random compliments can be anywhere between creepy to unwanted to "meh" to kind of nice. When you give a compliment to someone you can't expect them to also give a shit about it or even to be particularly flattered. If Adolf Hitler had said he liked my shoes I'd probably disregard that compliment. If the world's leading shoe designer said it then I might think that I'd made a good choice in shoes.

It's compliments to people I'm at least aquaintences with lol. But the hitler example really highlighted how a person's ethos matters when you compliment someone XD 👍

It depends on how often you say them, and how genuine they are. It also depends on who you are.

No way, a compliment can brighten up someone's entire day. I remember the first time a guy on the streets told me I'm really pretty, I was still skipping about it a week later. The effect of receiving compliments hasn't worn off yet.
I imagine the only time you get bored of hearing compliments is when you're famous. Those people seriously look unfazed when they get complimented

Honestly, I've started doubting if some of the compliments I get are genuine. It's not that I'm tired of compliments and I think it's lovely when people compliment each other but I've become a bit cynical. Compliments that don't have to do with my appearance are always nicer and easier to take as genuine.

Ones about looks, yes, personally I do. Compliments on my achievements or personality, that's what really makes me happy and stays with me for a long time. Really a nice boost.
Anybody can wear a nice dress or look good, not everybody can have a great personality or achievements.

If they go crazy yes. If someone I've known for literally 2 days comes and says "You're gorgeous, can we get married" it's not real but I'm never gonna get enough of the compliments that are about a thing I can do something about like "you got nice eyes" isn't one. I can't change my eyes but when it's like about my personality, it's always nice

It's not that we get tired of them, It's just that we run out of things to say back. Sometimes it's awkward to complement back and we get tired of saying "Thanks". So no we don't.

Compliments are great as long as they are genuine! If a guy is giving me compliments and I can tell he doesn't really mean it, then it's annoying.

As someone that's good looking, I'd say I DO get tired of compliments. They're annoying, creepy, sometimes even intrusive. When you hear it everyday it's really not that special.
