How do you deal with being ugly? (Page 3)

Question

I've been called handsome, and told I was cute, but that was mostly by my mom and family and friends. But one of my friends told me that I can't be picky when I went out to pick up girls. When I asked why should I have to settle, he told me "Well no offense, but your not exactly the best looking guy around either."Of course I've felt that I was unattractive before, and  usually, I could deal with it, telling myself that I couldn't get a girl because I went to small private schools my whole life, and there wasn't much to pick from. But somewhere in side me, I knew it wasn't true; I've always known that I was ugly. I don't get compliments like my friends do; I usually get ignore, or get told "I like you as a friend, or a brother". I'm only 18, but I just don't know how to deal with it. I've never even gotten my first kiss, which only adds to how I feel.Then, last night, figuring I could increase myself-esteem, I put my pix on a web site where people can vote if they think your attractive or not. Every person that say mine, said I was unattractive. I can't ask my mom because when she was a kid, she was pretty and lots of people found her attractive. I don't have a dad, so that's not an option either. I'm 5'8, 173 lbs, milk chocolate skin, or some I'm told, and have a friendly and inviting personality. But we all know that when it comes to it, personality is the last thing that helps when you're looking at someone.I just need some advice on how to deal with this. Please, anyone?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, luv. Always has been, always will be. Sure, your dueche bag friend might think you're ugly, but I can garauntee you some girls are going to think you are a real stud.

Looks are not as important to girls as they are to guys...I've been told that I should date cuter guys...but personality is where it's at. I think everyone has to be cute, in their own way. Someone is out there for you. Be patient!

The way you make girls feel matter more than looks. Keep in mind that just because you're not the most attractive guy in the world and don't get noticed much, does not mean you are ugly.

girls don't notice me or ask me out so I'm ugly too and I can feel that I'm ugly and a few say I'm not and I know they are lieing but if I had a way of dealing with it id probably shoot myself, if there was any other way I'll let you know

Confidence is key. I know the ugliest guys that have the most beautiful women. I don't give a damn how bad you think you are, if you exude confidence like you are a great guy to have, other people will start to believe it too. Also, personality counts ALOT. a good sense of human is rareky unrecognized :) Good look and who knows, you may turn into a gorgeous swan. Looks aren't everything.

Well, it really just depends on your confidence. If you believe you're ugly then you are going to come off ugly, but if you have a higher self-esteem more people will be attracted to the glow instead of just paying attention to how 'ugly' you think you are.

I'm average looking I guess, but every one says man is ugly. and I guess he is but I don't notice because he is really outgoing and funny. if someones first impression of you is that your so fun to chill with and outgoing and funny I doubt they will pay too much attention to your looks.

if someone really doesn't want you because your "ugly" they aren't good enough for you anyway. so don't worry about it =]

This sounds stupid, but some girls get turned on by personality (I talked about it at summercamp with friends). Really ...uh, hot girls that are really into themselves often don't get into personality as much. So don't get discouraged if hot girls shoot you down. Even so, in a few years, it won't even matter. Looks don't matter when you get older. :)

And people on the internet are assholes and judge by supermodel standards, so... whatever.

i think everyone can be attractive, as long as you  the right confidence. Most people who look "ugly" feel ugly. Most people who look great, feel great. Let you beauty shine. believe you have it.
