What does a smile and wave mean?

I've known this guy for probably over 10 years. But we were never close and I'm only not sure if we've ever had an actual conversation. I saw him today for the first time in over a year. From across the room we locked eyes. I smiled, and he just stayed looking at me. Later in the parking lot, we just so happened to park facing each other. We both turned on our cars and he locked eyes with me again and waved. I smiled and waved and he smiled back.

We've never spoke, but today he looked really excited to see me. What does that mean?

it does not particularly mean anything for now...

if he attempted talking to you then it might have been a little different...

Perhaps he was having a good day...perhaps it was a date he was looking forward to...

events that makes us happy makes us be cheerful with others as well...

dont you ever get to see a friend and you can se him/her smiling and waving like from a mile away? and you usually ask him/her "WHy're you so happy today? somthin good happen?" not " I think he/she has a crush on me!" or something

judging from your tone... you seem to have taken a liking to him...maybe not...who knows?

in the end all that matters is whether he really interacts with you or not... locking eyes with someone doesn't necessarily mean anything...maybe you were being too self conscious...

You're right. I just found it strange that after 10+ years he acknowledged me. But you are absolutely correct. I honestly think we sort of avoid each other because his aunt once told us both that we were going to get married and she was so serious when she said it. ha ha Thank you.
