That's a pretty dangerous thing to say as a guy. What he meant at the time was most likely that he was just so infatuated with you that he was all yours. However, guys very much so resent when girls take advantage of that fact (and every girl takes advantage of it).

He's not deep into the relationship... he's deep into a shallow perception of relationship. Deep like you just loooooooooooved your first boyfriend in middle school. If you really like this guy, disarm it by doing stuff together (the only example that comes to mind is take him to go play laser tag... it's a bad one, but that's what I mean by "doing stuff", not watching a movie or talking, but actual DOing) and by doing things for him.
