I wish I could easily say it's cheating. But I was kissed by few my girlfriend's (now ex's) friends. She was around, saw it and it was actually her idea. So I don't know what to say. I guess it depends on how it was (we just had fun, in my case) and if your partner know about it. When swingers have sex with other people, they are not consider it as cheating.

If you can't tell your partner about it, without them taking it as a breach of the relationship,, it IS cheating. So the litmis test for what is cheating varies greatly. In an open relationship, virtually nothing is considered cheating. With a controlling lunatic, waving at a neighbor might be considered cheating. No right answer, it just depends.

It is cheating if you're officially going out and not in an open relationship. Some official relationships, the ones that have a pre-occurrence agreement, would allow for this. But in the typical sense, there is no wiggle room.

Yes... it's physical intimacy with someone outside of your relationship, that's the textbook definition of cheating.

It's only cheating if you aren't up front about it. Some relationships are more open than others. If you have to hide it, it's cheating, and the guilt and resentment will build.
