sure, if they can't sit anywhere else i wouldn't mind, and he could sit without asking. It depends of my friend's weight, and no, it wouldn't feel any different if it was a girl-friend.

The question was if there are no more seats left so I won't mind... but if seats are available then I would just tell him to occupy that seat.
