Will a girl that used to like you still go out with you after you ignored/rejected her previously?

there is a girl that liked me for one year, and even though I thought she was hot, I wasn't ready for a relationship so every time she tried to talk to me or smile at me I would ignore her blatantly to try and kill her advances (because I didn't want to lead her on). a year later I've decided I like her and now I'm trying to get to know her, but we are no longer around each other so I had to ask her for her phone number via email...after taking 2 weeks to reply she gives her number and specifically asks me to give her a call...when I eventually give her a call she was initially really happy that I called her and then all of a sudden she switched and became cold and withdrawn (on purpose) and told me that she was busy with her work and that she'd call me tomorrow at 8pm...she never ended up calling and its been 3 days since (this is a big change from how she used to act previously e.g. smiling at me, trying to sit next to me in class etc)...this girl was definitely madly attracted to me before...does this mean she's gone off me and doesn't want to go out with me anymore because of the way I treated her previously? is she trying to take revenge? my girl friends tell me that any self respecting girl will not go out with a guy if she put herself out for him previously and he left her hanging? why the change of behavior? smart girls who know wot they're talking about please reply and tell me what's going on so I don't make the same mistake in the future when a girl likes me?

If someone did that to me I would think they are a jerk and why would they be interested in me NOW? after being so rude. I'd be thinking, don't do my any favors. Its not looking good for you...unless you can somehow develop a friendship with her and get the opportunity to explain yourself, apologize, mention how you have matured and realized, etc...might help, but may take her some time to feel comfortable with you. You hear it all the time...no one likes rejection. You rejected her big time! She may have turned cold because all those emotions of being kicked in the nuts (if she had some) were all flooding back. If nothing else, take it as a lesson learned of what not to do next time. :(

If you thought she was pretty, but you didn't lead her on you should have just told her that you weren't ready for a relationship.

it depends on the girl but personally I wouldn't after you were so rude about it. its like if you didn't want me then, which is OK not to return feelings but you were sort of a d*** about it but now all of a sudden you want something from me your trying to be nice? no I'd pass ..next time, even if you don't like a girl, try to not burn your bridges. I guarantee if you were nicer and more respectful about it you would still have a shot with her
