My girlfriend and I are having trouble getting along?

my girlfriend and I have been dating for about a year. we used to get along like best friends with no fighting or arguing. now it seems like we are always fighting over something. it seems like the bad times are beginning to outweigh the good times and I don't know what to do. I want to break up with her while another part of me doesn't. what should I do?

Are you spending too much time together or too little time together? The healthiest couples know how to balance time with friends, hobbies, and eachother. Bad times should never outweigh good times. If they do, you're doing something wrong. Maybe you should ask her for a break so you can both decide if it's worth it to try to save this relationship. Good luck!

I know we are spending too much time together and the only time I get away is when I'm at work. when I do that she goes to her friend's. but I definitely know we spend too much time together but if I ask for a little break she will get pissed. so what should I say?

She might get pissed but she should get over it. If she doesn't then there is your answer...she's not mature enough to be in a relationship in the first place. She needs to respect you and your feelings. Tell her you feel it would be a good idea to take some time apart because when you're together all you're doing is fighting. Tell her you both need to have space or you'll smother each other and become bored. If she can't respect your feelings then get out and find someone who will. Good luck!

Jealousy is an ugly thing. It's been a year so I would sit her down and tell her you love her but the jealousy is tearing you two apart. Let her know that if she doesn't work on it she runs the risk of losing you. Has she been cheated on before?

No we don't live together and she's been cheated on before sort of. she liked a guy before and they were kind of close but she found out after that he also had another girl.

When girls come around. she is afraid they will try to flirt with me or I will with them. I wouldn't though so it frustrates me

Ok. Well, she obviously has some trust issues. Talk to her about it. If she doesn't rectify it you may need to re think your relationship. It's frustrating to be with someone who doesn't trust you.

I bet. I would sit her down and say "Look, I love you. I don't know what to do because you don't seem to really get that. If you don't trust me this relationship isn't going to work. I'm not going to cheat on you. I just can't take the fighting anymore. Something needs to change or we need to not be together."

i really admire you for being such a good guy.girls get insecure. she obviously has muchhh love for you! and you have the same for her. now you guys have to work out a balance. I think its sweet how your getting advice to help your relationship I hope you guys the best you seem to be a match made in heaven even those arnt perfect :)

If you feel there's something specific you can do that you always fight over, then certainly there's no harm in trying.

However if you're fighting constantly and clearly not happy, it's not fair on either of you. Maybe a chat with her about your relationship will let you see whether she's willing to keep trying or whether it's time to end it.
