Why are millennial women so difficult to please?

Back in the old days, women seemed much easier to impress, since the birthrates were higher.

Now, less millennials are getting married and having sex. That may have to do with a weaker economy and less jobs, but in my opinion, it's because millennial women have higher expectations than their previous generations.

Look at 50 Shades of Grey and that's what I'm talking about. A millennial woman who gets married to a super rich bad boy and is willing to tolerate his abuse for his riches.

I'm not trying to blame anyone or anything like that, but it seems that millennial women are socialized to expect only the best and not take anything less than spectacular. It seems that men have to try harder than women, since I see men (myself included) settle for average, but the women want the supermen.

The « old days » are overly romanticized. Don’t worry, there are plenty of millennial girls who aren’t dating millionaires & billionaires or expecting Superman. We do have more opportunities than in previous generations though, and expect to work and be able to support ourselves. That often means higher education, working full-time, paying for your rent, car, student loans, etc. Those things tend to mean marrying and having kids later than previous generations.

I don’t know if that answers your question. Maybe we’ve just had different experiences, but I don’t think we’re terribly hard to please... 😅

I think it is. Why is it that EVERY SINGLE millennial woman that I asked out who wasn't fat told me to go away? While the older women from Gen-X seemed more accommodating?

Hopefully? That sounds too unrealistic, since I've tried everything and ALL the women I've wanted, even the average ones, wouldn't even consider me.

That's weird in my country women have much less expectation than before. Before they wanted men with lots of money and who treated them good, had charism, etc... Now they would date anyone even the lazy potato who do nothing to find a job, treat them like that and cheat on them and they always come back.

I wouldn't blame millennials for this, back in the 60's and 70's one could say the same thing about hippies and the counter culture. We all carry an ideal fantasy in life about everything. Take applying for a dream job, in your head you think it's going to be great and you'll never have a bad day but the reality is even though you love it you still have bad days or maybe you end up hating it.

The point is we all have the ideal list of things we area searching for but at some point you realize your fantasy will never measure up too reality. Otherwise it wouldn't be a fantasy anymore lol

I tried to date Millennial women for years, and after suffering one disaster after another, I began to think it was me.

About that time, the younger GenZ girls started coming of age, many showing interest in older men because they don't like Millennial guys.

Since then, I've had FAR more success with younger GenZ girls than I ever did Millennial girls. They want men, and they're often willing to overlook large age gaps to find them.

I'm sure there are good Millennial girls out there, but I sure had trouble finding them.

As far as conplications in relationships, I wouldn’t say spoiled as much as sheltered. Millennials were raised in a way that literally anything that made them uncomfortable was considered a serious offense. They were protected from all risks and dangers. But relationships - especially at the beginning - are inherently risky and stressing, so Millennials conceived of numerous ideas of how to ‘safely’ approach relationships without taking risks or facing dangers. And when those ideas failed, they fell into anxiety because they didn’t know how to achieve what they wanted and needed in a relationship.

It’s more sad than anything. They really do suffer from it. I know Millennial girls who are constantly depressed because they want a relationship but cannot make themselves face the anxiety and the challenges of building one.

GenZ girls have their problems, but they seem to be much better with relationships. Generation Z individuals have grown up in a world of terrorism, mass shootings, political upheaval, and a very incertain future. They seem to be much more proactive in finding what they want from life, and with things like gay marriage and drug legalization happening, they are perfectly fine with breaking social norms and customs to get what they want.

Personally, I think that’s why GenZ girls are not only better with facing the challenges of a relationship, but also why they seek the security of older men even when it’s criticized and considered deviant. They know what they want, and they aren’t afraid to go for it. That’s my thoughts on it anyway.

It’s called we have choices now. Way back when, women didn't have much choices and bred like Catholic rabbits. They chose to stay in abusive relationships because they wouldn’t be able to care for themselves if they left.
