Let me state this from my perspective. Abortion is used as a birth control for the most part. Yes some women get pregnant as a result of rape. Some women face problems during pregnancy, like the baby is dead or severely disabled. In these cases, women are not to blame. They deserve zero shame and it should be left at a private matter. I agree abortion should be legal in those cases. Most people do.

However, the extreme majority of abortions are done for "convenience" reasons. Reasons which are futile. Reasons like, the woman wants to stay in college - her parents could help raise the child or give the baby for adoption or she can just resume college after a year. Second is money. This is a ridiculous reason. Lastly, the biggest reason was that women didn't want to be single parents. My response is this...

If you are unable to deal with the consequences of your actions do not do them. That's why we have a justice system. But for some reason women don't have to play by the rules and can use this 'get out of jail, card'. It's wrong. Abortion should not be used as a birth control and I'm surprised it's still legal. I thought humans were turning away from our barbaric past. I guess not.

In short, a person that cannot face the consequences of their actions is a coward. So do you think these women are cowards?

I am surprised to see that 63% of you agree with women who abort. Women have 'partial birth' abortions, in which a baby that can live outside the womb is delivered but the head is left in the vagina and then the head is punctured and the baby then delivered. It is 100% murder and women do it for convenience and then leave the clinic smiling. Abortion like this is legal up to 9 months in 8 states and legal up to 7 states in the rest. How are women not evil & cowards for doing this?

Abortion is legal not because the government believes it's right or wrong but because the alternative is much worse. Trying to argue the morals behind it is meaningless, because it's ultimately subjective and based off different viewpoints. The issue is that there will always be women who have abortions, whether it's legal or not.
If illegal women will turn to alternative methods, we've seen it before, countless women die or a permanently injured from home or botched abortions. There would likely be much greater rates of infertility as well. From a state standpoint making it illegal other than for ideological reasons, makes no sense, because it's been well recorded that following the legalisation of abortion, crime rates fell pretty heavily and lessened the pressure on the state to provide for institutionalised children. I think most of the time the mindset behind abortions is actually more desperate than you might think. Money is a massive issue. Some women would have to take a lot of time off work, pay for medical expenses and other pregnancy related thing that they can't afford at the time. All this to give up the child for adoption, who might never get adopted or fostered. It only seems logical that a 200 dollar procedure could fix that.

Why I don't care about your opinion is that it's likely that you have no interest in the lives of these children once they are born, you don't care about the mothers. I just wanted to add that (in France at least) 70% of abortions are asked by women who had a birth control, but it failed. Meaning they didn't want to get pregnant and were responsible enough to take birth control, it just didn't work.
