Anonymous(30-35)+1 yUsually to get more likes/get attention. Sometimes if they have good body - to show it off. Some also are ambassadors of some brands and they have to post photo from time to time. Sometimes just because they were somewhere on the beach etc. and they just have photo like this.
Personally, I have one photo in bikini on my Instagram. İt is from my trip in Asia and I just really liked this photo because the light is amazing and the view behind me as well. My body also appears not bad. I was confused if post it or not because I don't really like to show my body too much. And actually I asked my boyfriend about it. He said it's okay to post it because it looks nice and that anyway people see me on the beach in bikini.65 Reply- +1 y
Wait, you post it on Instagram and where do you think all these other photos of girls in Bikini's are posted on - Instagram :)
Opinion Owner+1 y@TrixiePooch Yes! That's why I said I have one as well. :)

You're confusing me. You don't like to show your body too much yet you post it on a site like Instagram, the site where every girl goes to post pics saying look at me. Either you like it or you don't.
Opinion Owner+1 y@TrixiePooch
Normally I don't do it. But as I wrote before, I really liked this photo. So just for once I made an exception and posted it.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yAttention and validation. They suffer from low self-esteem and/or self-worth, and need justification via likes/comments on social media. Guys do it too, usually with gym pics. It's funny, I used to post a gym pic every few weeks to a month until I learned about self-worth. Now, I'm in the best shape of my life, I do MMA and boxing, and I haven't posted a single gym pic or status in well over a year because I don't need anyone's validation. I'm happy with myself, and I know I'm in good shape so I don't need 100 girls to tell me that on FB.

It depends. Some are attention seekers, some want to show off their hard work because they're proud of it and others simply had fun on a beach and like to share that side of themselves. A bikini is not a sexual item of clothing per se, it is a sexualised item. There is no reason why someone wearing a bikini should be seen as provocative.

Yes sir. It's their drug. Recent studies show IG is 'porn hub' for women.
+1 yAccording to biology and psycology, females disproportionaly require social empathy and acceptance when compared to their male counterparts. To feed their biological serotonin hunger, they will resort to make-up, clothing and status to acquire more views, increasing their popularity. After the first steps is just a spiral, hard to get out of.
You can see this behaviour in Twitch. tv, for example, where men resort to their entertainment skills while women resort to their bodies. Another example is Instagram, where "professional instagramers" take an average of 50 photos to get the perfect lighting, shadows, angle, etc. All to create a fake but extremely effective way to feed hormonal desire to our brains.43 Reply- +1 y
I don't think that's why people on Twitch use their body. If guys could use their sexual attractiveness to get a significant increase in their traffic, donations, and subscribers i'm sure they would.
That's like saying a stripper becomes a stripper because they want social empathy lol. - +1 y
Falacious comparison regarding the stripper, but it was funny mate :) yes, men would definitely resort to that given that people would buy it, but they don't, so men have to use other tools. Since it's easier to women to sell their sexual attractiveness, besides getting paid more which perhaps is the main point (I'll give you that) it plays such a huge role in hormonal and humour control.

- +1 y
Maybe not in those exact words, but yes. She wants to show how comfortable she is in something, that makes her feel sexy, but doesn't want to feel dirty about it
- +1 y
@3rdSrike Exactly. I look good in suits but I don't take bloody selfies every day on instagram wearing those suits for myself because I feel good. I don't need selfies for that. And women aren't doing it for that either. They're showing off to get attention... plain and simple.
- +1 y
Dont be a twat you irrelevant cabbage.

5 men are mad about the fact that we have better things to do in life than to try to please only them.
- +1 y
I mean, if you worked hard for a bikini body, why do you still need validation from others? Posting it to me means you want other people to look at you, and obviously be pleased with what they see.
- +1 y
@Peopleschamp the fact is, it isn't always for showing off their bodies.
- +1 y
its cool gurl really, we as men dont exactly go by what women say, we go by what they do, there is no woman that will admit she wants attention and fishes for attention, and i dont think that every move a woman does is fueled by hunger for attention... however lets be realistic here for a moment, iam a guy and i post sometimes pics online , yes i do have few pics of me with friends, food.. etc that show iam having fun, but at least half the pics are me in nice clothes or looking as attractive as i can be because pictures remain there for a pretty long time and a lot of people are gonna see them, a lot of girls who get know me will go online to view them often.
and women are no different they want to look their best because they know that pics last and understand very well that men are visual and thy like beuatiful bodies and faces, they want the comfort of knowing that they have some seriosuly hot pics out there that make men feel certain feelings. - +1 y
I have at least a couple hundred girls on fb and another hundred of so on instagram and at least half of them post pictures all the time, like at least once a week, wearing super short clothes, bikinis, and the such, they have plenty of men commenting on their pics and they reply with hearts, kisses and with a lot of flirting to these comments and the poses they take are not like anything you would call "natural" and they make some serious effort to make their butt and b00bs bigger and squeeze as much size as they can in there... for me its cool like really i dont mind at all, sure i dont take such girls seriously when it comes to dating but thats it really i won't treat them bad or anything so i am not sure why so many women choose to deny that they do certain things for attention when literally there is no other reason.
- +1 y
@3rdSrike it's definitely true that we like to upload our best shots, I do too and I had a period of time when I uploaded a shit load of selfies. Even now I love taking pics but don't enjoy uploading a lot. Last Friday I came back from traveling abroad and I really am not in a mood to upload
- +1 y

@CubsterShura lol... women do tend to compete a lot i give you that , more than once i listened to girls talking about someones clothes and making sure they say bad things about thag particualr girl for no reason other than sh1ts and giggles.

- +1 y

- +1 y
@3rdSrike yeah but we don't make a big fuss about competition like you do. Read some G@G posts about dating and you will know what I mean.
- +1 y
@CubsterShura you do but act like you dont , whenever i sit around some chicks on campus they find a reason to talk about another girl and bash her and her outfit, who cares? who cares if you dont like her pants or shirt, or even worse if the girl is half naked they even bash her harder but when they are half naked suddenly its alright.
- +1 y
@CubsterShura you're 17 i am not gonna continue arguing with you because obviously you come from a highschool mentality where you're the "Tough" one and everyone is on your level in real life though that is far from the truth, when you graduate you will see that being a clueless 18 years old in a world full of adults with different skills and experiences that trump yours by a large margin is not an easy task and a lot of your ideas will change.
- +1 y
@3rdSrike yeah because you totally know everything about my life. I'm sorry that you have such a negative environment, but don't bash others with your corrupted attitude. I better be 17 forever of being 24 means being an arrogant ageist like you.
- +1 y
@CubsterShura with that mentality you will be 17 forever
- +1 y
@3rdSrike that's a compliment
- +1 y
@CubsterShura not if you know what it actually means
- +1 y
@3rdSrike Lemme tell you one thing. Every time I state something. The number of men's down vote and hating determines how right I am. Now buzz off.
- +1 y
@CubsterShura first of all right is subjective what is right to you could be wrong to someone else and when you have a majority who doesn't agree with you or even worse that majority happens to be your target audience (unless you're gay) then you can be sure that something isn't right and needs changing... on this site you sometimes get to hear the answer you have been looking for right from the source if you're smart enough u will use but if you're tol self obsessed and have no life experience you will just claim it means nothing and move on... now you say all men always disagree with you and yet you see nothing wrong with your way of thinking? Maybe try to find out whats making them dislike your opinions and u will get your answer.
I never will on a dating site, but on a site like this one, the various forums I visit for 3D modelling/game development, etc. I do it because I get tired of guys hitting on me.
Usually it's sight unseen, so I'll put up a bikini pic to show them that the girl they probably thought was a young hot thing is actually a 300 lb. middle aged woman who, despite the extra weight, has surprisingly small boobs.10 Reply- 642 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic.

If you see a lot of travel pics, the bikini pics could be also for showing that she's having fun at the beach under the sun and all. If you see that in many pictures she's posing to show off her body than the bikini pic was also for showing off.

@3rdSrike if I like photo I will post it, just because I want to do it. Of course you will get some attention, but same thing happens when I'm posting other photo. But when you have enough attention in real life and confident in yourself, you just don't care what men could think 😏
