Clearly, many people still like them, but they don't really work well under clothes and can be uncomfortable, which is why they aren't what most women wear when they want to have hosiery on.

I don't see why they wouldn't be acceptable. They capture a woman's features really nicely. I think they add some spice to things in regards to the romance aspect. It's a nice change to the same old thong and dance.
