The reason I'm asking is because recently I found out that my fiance was cheating on me (and he left me for the other woman). I really loved him, and looking back I feel like maybe I was dating someone with NPD. When I made friends with one of his exes, she told me he has a history of dating "submissive" women. Turns out the woman he cheated on me w already left him because he was telling her how to wear shorter dresses, heels, makeup, and not texting her unless she texted first.

Normally I'm on the heartbreaker side of things, and this time I fell hard, so I'm kinda confused. Also, I feel like my personality changed a lot for him, and it was like I didn't even know it. I even offered to pay $500 for a flight for him, something that I now look back on and find ridiculous. Reminds me of the "foot in the door" phenomenon in psychology in a way.

She'd rather settle for less by accepting what's happening than to stand her ground if she feels something is unfair so that conflict doesn't arise. She'll have a hard time initiating conversations; that she prefers others to start them first so she doesn't feel awkward for saying something strange or out of place. She's very agreeable and won't say no often in order to prevent a potential argument from happening. She feels degraded; that she feels her opinions don't matter and will often not speak up in order to "keep the peace" as they say. She believes rebelling is the cause of disorder; that being a good girl means to obey the rules no matter the costs.

It's quite sad in my opinion when people prioritize others over themselves at a never-ending rate; when they feel others are more important than their own self. That is what submissive behavior is; to feel weak, passive and obedient at every whim.

If he's aware of submissive people in general, he's probably manipulative in taking advantage of women who are too afraid to speak up for themselves and doesn't like the idea of an independent woman. Sadly, I don't know him well enough to know the reasons why he's break up with people constantly other than him not getting what he wants. Sounds like he's not the kind of guy you'd want to date if he acts this way and has broken up with so many women in the past including yourself.
