Over the past few years, I've become really good friends with this girl named Emma. We used to snapchat and text all day every day. However recently we've only been texting and her text backs are sporadic. She used to reply within 24 hours, but now it sometimes takes her like 12 days to get back with me.
Our conversations used to end naturally. For example, I'd tell a funny story about how my grandpa ran a red light. She'd reply "Lol". Now, for instance, she'll complain about how her best friend and dog ruined her apartment. I'd ask her what she's gonna do about it. She said she'll confront the friend. I'll ask how she think the friend will react. Then 2 days later, she'll text me complaining about something else like how she had to poop at a truck stop and not even acknowledge what I said before.
After not replying for a while, Emma will usually say something along the lines of "I'm sorry, I've been really busy but...", "I'm sorry, I got tied up with *insert random excuse here* and I fell asleep...", or "I'm so sorry I've gotten so bad at reading and not replying. Hold on and let me read the message then I'll respond... *then blows up my phone with 3-8 messages*". Why does she sometimes blow up my phone with multiple messages after not texting me for several days? I'm tempted to not text her anymore.
I get that people are busy. I don't get how we went from communicating all the time, to nothing at all. If she got tied up, she used to tell me that she was busy helping her grandma, at a work party with her dad, or something along those lines and I'd hear from her before the day was over. Now she'll say something like she went hiking then fell asleep as soon as she got home. But did she fall asleep for 3 days?
I think she has a boyfriend or something. I haven't seen her in person or on Facebook with one. But one of my co-workers didn't post or introduce her boyfriend for about 6 months. So there's a chance she could be hiding someone.
