Are you ever afraid of sending a friend request?

Do you sometimes not send a friend request because of the fear of rejection? Like on Facebook, Myspace, even on here? How about sending messages, does that ever intimidate you?

When I was younger I got really cautious with who I was adding.. For all I knew it was a 9yr old and his buddies making the profile of some 18 year old supermodel in my area... That, and I had the explicit assumption that she would ignore what I had to say or she'd find me "nervous"..

In turn, I kinda grew out of the stage of adding random people. I mean, it's nice when I see someone talking to others in a genuinely fun way that intrigues me.. But anymore there are too many fake profiles, too many times I've been rejected, etc.. To where I just wanna chat with my friends when I go online. I'm not looking to add the "hotties" to take a chance at getting a date.

I think the biggest turning point for a man (towards getting women) is to give up on trying to "Get them" but continue to "Get to know them".. ("Get them" is terminology in the ArtistBBoy dictionary for "go after them to get laid or to get a relationship")... It's weird how the vibe goes out towards others, but you know when someone is looking for a relationship versus when they just want to talk.. And then you've also gotta have experience in your life to have fun talking about your life, and on down the line..

I'm never intimidated on the net through fear of rejection or anything like that, the only time I've ever questioned whether to friend someone, especially on facebook, was whether I thought it would be creepy or not if I didn't really know someone all that well. On here...I typically don't send friend requests lol

It's just a friend request, so I guess it's a different kind of rejection and I don't hold too much meaning to it, it's not like I'm confessing some sort of feelings toward the person lol I dunno, just my opinion.

Yea I never really send anybody a request unless somebody asks me to look them up.

I kind of feel weird about asking someone to be my friend.

Sometimes it depends on who it is, I don't wanna be rejected or be annoying to somebody.

Not really. It's much easier online than in real life and most people accept anyway.

You know these sites are mostly not reality, they're people you don't know and aren't even sure they exist.. How can you be afraid of them rejecting you?

This shows how people are so divorced from reality they think of their cyber relationships as somehow REAL!

I don't send friend requests anyway, so I'd say no. As for messages back when I had a Facebook, it seemed like it bothered a lot of people besides those who I talked to regularly, so I tend not to send them anymore.

On facebook I'm not worried about the requests I send because I don't really add people that I used to only know alright that would possibly not accept. On here I don't worry about sending requests at all, because I don't actually know anybody on here!

I rarely add someone on FB, and I only add them if I know them in real, just to keep my profile more exclusive.

I never send a friend request to be honest. If someone wants to get to know me I let them add me.
