How can I convince myself that I don't like him?

So,this guy is seriously admirable,I mean the first time I noticed him staring I was like he is cute :)but that's it!(believe it or not Iam more attracted to smart then cute guys)did not really care much so as I caught him staring at me so many times later that got me interested in knowing more about him so asked my friends everybody told me what a sweet ,nice person he is,anyway we had an assignment together so I got to talk to him and he seemed a bit confused(he always seems confused around me but only me)and he was blabbering a bit ,so I spoke to him more every time I like him more plus he tries to help me at class even when I do not ask his help,so the more I got to know him I found out what a great guy he is I mean he is smart and kind ,how would not I like him? the problem is I do not know if he likes me as much:(and I can not convince my self that I don't like him, what should I do?

Why are you trying to convince yourself you don't like him?You obviously do but you don't know if he feels the same.I suggest talking to him even more and setting up some time where as the two of you can just hang out and get to know one another.You said he always stares at you and that he is helpful-which are two signs someone possibly likes you...so go with it. If one of you don't start stepping up,you will continuously wonder "what if " and "does he like me". He's at least TALKING to you which is just half the battle. CONTINUE To talk to him...see how it goes.Good Luck!

thanks I think I should talk to him more ,I mean it seems like he is trying to know me better as he is always somewhere around me,trys to catch my attention so I should give him a chance to know me better
