The only time I said "do what you want" was when my at the time boyfreind had a drinking problem like blacking out drunk 4 times a week bad.
On the weekdays I made him promise to not drink more than two drinks. But on the weekend could do what he wanted. Well that lasted a month.

So I said do what you want and broke up with him

Ummm Yes, Girls brains are wired different from guys , A girl Will have a 1000 things racing in her head at all times where a guy doesn't have the ability to do that , There isn't a book big enough to understand women as for a guy it's not that complicated . To please a man all a girl has to do is walk over to him in sexy lingerie and hand him a beer and day meet me in bed when you are finished with your beer , A girl to be pleased has a list of chores that need done , needs her man to be a mind reader to know what gets her in the mood , so Yes the list goes on and on lol it's very difficult lol

I think it's just hard to tell what level of straight forwardness women are. Some men are like this too. I feel like I have a problem understanding women, not because they're all confusing but because I can't tell which one is naturally being straight forward and honest with what she's saying or if she isn't saying what she really wants to say and is hoping I'll be able to understand her. Simply put im not good on picking up social cues and reading into things. So I find it harder to "understand" women because it seems like they're less direct than men are. And it's hard to tell when one is being direct and another isn't. So that's why it's "confusing"

yes and no. once you understand how a woman's mind works, how relationships work, then it is much easier to understand where they are coming from and how to respond and be successful with, or more successful. It takes some study and experience... there is a reason there are degree programs in womens studies:)!

But if you don't understand them and think they are men with a few different body parts, they are a mystery and their behaviors are baffling, frustrating and a lot of men give up.

They live in the moment and they are emotional which is something I love about them, but some of them can be very inconsistent.
That's difficult for men to grasp at times.

No. Men want someone that makes them relaxed and they are able to trust without much effort. Women want a guy that passes every one of their myriad of shit tests and doesn't mind hew constantly intruding on him in order to find "red flags".

"He looked at me. What does it mean?" "He said I'm cute. What does it mean?" Which what confuses us.
