Help. Girls flirt with my boyfriend in front of me?

While me and my boyfriend are out together, we’ll be holding hands and there are still even girls flirting with him. One time, a girl was looking at him while smiling widely and laughing loudly. Another time a girl was giving him the eye: looking at him with a certain look (like she saw something amazing) while nodding her head. They aren’t just looking at my boyfriend in front of me. They are flirting. I had to give these girls the death stare. I’m just confused. Why do girls do this?

Many women have this strange thing where they're more attracted to a man who is taken/is with a woman/is the kind of guy other women want. Otherwise known as "pre-selection". There have been all kinds of studies done on this, even with rats. If they placed a pretend female rat next to a male rat, more female rats would try to mate with him than one without one.

I've also had similar experiences before where maybe the girl wasn't that interested in me while I was single. Where I was initiating all text exchanges, where she'd always stop before I did. She'd always be "too busy" to hang out. Then once I got a girlfriend all of a sudden these kinds of girls start initiating texting, trying to flirt etc. I also found it weird and I had to say "look, I have a girlfriend".

Maybe it's an ego thing, triggered by jealousy. Maybe it's just that they find another guy attractive when he's with another woman because it says to her that he must have good qualities - even though if he were to leave her for them, that would show that he was disloyal and therefore not really a good person.

Whatever it is, the main person you have to look at is your boyfriend. Watch his behaviour. If your partner is attractive, and this probably happens more with women, other people are always going to try to hit on them. What's important is that your partner is loyal enough to say "no" when that happens. If he or she is overly friendly with them, then you have a problem.

Well, I'm not a girl, but I've heard the reason girls do this is because the fact you've given your stamp of approval to your boyfriend means he's a good catch.

You can take it as a form of flattery that all these other girls care about your opinion, because they probably won't pay attention to your boyfriend if he were single.

Also, if you are hot, they may be even more jealous of you. I think that often when girls want a guy, the secret reason is they're envious of the girl he is with.

You should not let this bother you. Just be like, "You can look but you cannot touch" to these girls.
