Should I send her a Valentine's Day card?

The girl that I like is very shy.

In the past she was physically abused by boyfriends.

She is very protective of herself.

I have tried to ask her out, but she spooked.

It is clear though that we are really attracted to one another though.

We have not dated yet; she is way too guarded and I need to show her that I can be trusted first.

I think that sending flowers would scare her.

Would it be acceptable to send her a Valentines Day card in the mail? Is this too forward?

A Valentine's day card is such a pure, romantic gesture that I really doubt that she could be offended. I personally am in a relationship with a woman who is very sensitive and yes, you will need to be building up a sense of trust with her.

Once she feels she can trust you, it could open up into something extraordinary. So just take it easy.

But I think you are safe with the card. Skip the flowers until you have her trust. Cards are an overlooked gesture, in my opinion. Be sure to write something original in the card.

i don't think it would be bad, but don't send one that says like be my valentine or something. I would just send something like I hope you have a great Valentine's day. that way she won't feel like you are trying to come on to her or something

Exactly. Like don't be all gushy or anything.

Just let her know that you were thinking of her by sending the card.

Nothing that is forward or professing your love (hell I won't even use that word)

yeah just send something chill like the equivalent of a happy holidays card at Christmas time
