While not a rock star, or a woman, I could understand parts of the attraction that a woman might have. But I have an idea that this can usually be a phase or a temporary thing. They’re not wanting to necessarily MARRY these guys, it’s the “fling” idea. So these rock stars are usually not “great” in the sense of doing the things that make most long term relationships work. And I’ll just put in that this could work for some guys if there was a rocker chick in a band, but we’ll use the stereotype of the women wanting the guy who’s the rock star.
1) artistic and creative. 2) if they’re famous, they have influence. 3) If famous, they probably travel and see and do things many people don’t get to do. 4) there’s a “bad boy” image a lot of them have, even if it’s an act. 5) if they’re famous, people want to be like them or be around them. 6) if true, they do A LOT of partying. For rockers, it’s the whole “sex, drugs, and rock and roll” idea. Partying can be fun, for a lot of women.
7) interesting stories from the road... so now the woman is interesting if she was there or she knew the guy. Fame by association. 8) if famous, they make a lot of money. 9) if famous, there’s competition. Other beautiful women will want this guy. To date the rock star is to (at least temporarily (or partially) have what other women would want to sleep with.
They have talent, confidence, often good looks, celebrity, and money. They often also have the Bad Boy thing that young women especially go crazy for - not realizing that all those negative traits will eventually affect her too.
But a (professional) musician is not an easy person to have a relationship with. Most are on the road 6-9 months a year, and busy writing, recording, and promoting when home. And being away from their girl for so long while simultaneously having women throw themselves at him means he's unlikely to be faithful on the road (to the point that most rock wives accept this as part of the deal of being with them).
The fantasy is far different from the reality.

I used to think it was cool to be married to a rock star. That was until I saw the otherside. I am friends with a woman whose husband is a drummer for a world renowned metal band. Her husband is constantly on the road. And when he is at home he's doing interviews for radio stations and magazines etc. He's gone for 6 months at a time and can be thousands of miles away from home. You throw a kid in that mix and it all goes to hell. After I saw through her eyes of what it was like raising a kid as a single parent I thought this is no kind of life to live. Just like Steve Perry says in the song "Faithfully" "Loving a music man ain't always what it's supposed to be."
I have never been attracted to a rock star nor have I ever liked any kind of rock music. I don't want to sound like an old lady but I could be attracted to classical music players and pianists and I find their music more enjoyable and attractive. Shows me concentration, talent, intelligence (usually), passion

Women are like sheep, they are attracted to what other women like. A man surrounded by beautiful women is assumed by other women to be of highly desirable quality.
Nah I don’t. They have long hair and an unstable serious job, so I’ve never been attracted to them and I never understood why women fall In love with them or how these men get to sleep with some girls that easily.
I find talent attractive. Someone who is very good at what they do has demonstrated such talent very visibly, such that it's the first thing a person sees when they encounter them.
I certainly don't. They have that bad boy vibe about them, something I steer clear from. I know there are women who would go crazy for them, of course. No idea why.
because rock stars are actually good? xD they write their own songs, write the lyrics, play the instruments, they have that bad boy look, "Sex Drugs and Rock N Roll", and they're rich and famous
