Men, do you think women give too much effort getting their nails done?

Okay, I've see a lot of what I can only call "fashionistas" wearing these glued-on nails and I just don't get it: why are they so damn long? Watching people wearing this stuff try to use their smartphone is a sight to be behold. They look ridiculous and do nothing but get in the way.
As for the question of "appreciation"... no, I really don't. Whenever I see a woman wearing this, my first thought is "she is more preoccupied with her looks than she is with how easily she can use her fingers". Unless you want to open bottles (assuming they don't break easily), whatever function they serve is effectively usurped by how utterly impractical they are.
Wouldn't it make more sense to just paint your nails, instead of gluing junk onto your fingers? It probably takes about the same amount of time to remove and you aren't left partially-immobilized.
"TOO much effort" implies that there is a right or wrong amount of effort in getting one's nails done.
What is the right amount? What is the wrong amount?
It would be a sad argument if we were to base "right" or "wrong" based on whether or not Men as a collective like it.
If you enjoy it, if it brings you joy (ala Marie Kondo), just continue doing it, regardless of whether Men as a collective like it or not.
On a personal front, I think all these nail art and long nail maintenance is something that's more appreciated among women, compared to men. I like clean, bare, short nails, unadorned with anything - but that's my preference, I don't speak on behalf of all men. My educated guess is that men generally couldn't care less about women's nails; when it becomes like talons on a bag lady, this might be especially off-putting.
Tbh my mom always told me lazy people wear long nails like that for a long time. Like people who aren't doing much. People working a job that doesn't require much. And I personally just hate wearing nail polish and fake nails. (My nails grow long fast anyway and I hate it)
But overall, I think some are pretty depending on how long and the look. I think it it makes people happy they should do it. I jusy think they should be practical about spending money on it though.
I can count on one hand how many times a year I get my finger nails done. I think the reason I am not into is because I am constantly cleaning and my hands are wet. Yes, I know that I could use gloves to do dishes etc. I can't justify the expense when they don't stay nice very long. I can't stand to see the women with super long nails. Not only do I find it discussing but unhygienic and lazy. My husband doesn't care either way.

I don't really care for them. But when they stand out too much it just screams high maintenance.
The girls I know that put effort into their nails tend to act like princesses out of Disney films and they expect guys to treat them as such with no effort back in return.
I’m a girl and I personally don’t understand the fuss about nails. My friends basically have a full closet of every nail polish in the world... and then there’s me who has a bottle of turquoise nail polish that’s 10 years beyond it’s expiry date😂
Maybe i also have a disinterest due to the fact I’m the worst nail painter IN THE WORLD (left hand problems)😭
Ask your boyfriend to do it for you.
I don't think anything after keeping them nice and clean makes much difference for guys. Dirty nails are obviously a big turn off though. The only time I really noticed them was on chick that changed the color every time I seen her and they were strange colors. I thought she was crazy , cute but crazy and she indeed was both.
I don't think we care at all lol. I don't. It's just "something women do". Only thing that's a bit of a turn off is the really, really long fake ones. You know, where she can't do anything with her hands because her nails are so long lol. Those in pic are about as long as they should be, no longer. If you are going to have fake ones. But no, we don't care. They do nothing for us. Unless a guy has some kind of fetish for them?
It doesn't bother me. However, I don't pay for the mani/pedi services when my wife paints her nails completely. I do pay for the services if she gets French tips, of the color of my choice, with some cute art on it.
I hardly get my nails done. If & when I do, I'd like to get them done professionally or I'll do them myself best way I can to make 'em look the way I want 'em to.
I have an appreciation for a tastefully well-done manicure. My preference is French tips or some other light pink color, though any color is fine. What I don’t like is a violation of the “less is more” aesthetic. Also, really long nails are not attractive. (The ones in the picture are pushing it, but still OK.)
I've had more guys compliment my nails then women. All the ones I know who said they liked them are straight.

A guy I talk to loves nice nails. Whenever I send him pictures of mine done he loves it. Not sure why
Did he ask for pics or did you send them looking for attention? If it's the latter of course he'll compliment you cause you give the impression you put in much effort to look nice.
I think you understand men better than these guys.
Its not a turn off but more of a turn on if any. I assume not many guys will be complementing girls on their nails.
Honestly I don't even look at them, I mean yes, well kept nails are necessary. But none of that long colorful nail stuff. Just simple and clean is fine.
However some amount of length is sometimes cool, she can use it to tickle or something...😁
I don't find them to be much of a turn-on. Certainly not worth the cost and effort and inconvenience when one falls off or breaks
I don't care about all that shine and color. I do like clean looking nails though. It is a turnoff for the nails in the picture. Based on the length, I can tell this girl doesn't play any sports.
I have really short nails because I play piano, and you don't want them clicking on the keys, and nobody seems to care that much.
When I do my nails, only girls compliment them, I've never heard a guy noticing them
Yeah, I think they put too much unnecessary effort. Natural nails look best.
I think guys just like clean nice :) I think it’s us women that enjoy colourful nails :)
I disagree. Some guys can appreciate nice colored nails.
I don't give enough effort. But I love getting my nails done.
Some do, yes. I don't get it. Nails like that look gaudy.
That example is a turn off for me. I prefer "normal length" natural nails.
