She is always on her phone?

My girlfriend is always on her cell phone when she is with me. She is talking to people or she is reading local news or playing games both internet and non internet. She says I am being unreasonable because when I am with her I want her to put it down and that she can hear me just fine even though she doesn’t. My question is am I being unreasonable when I want to spend time with her and not her and her phone?

We have situations like this over here as well. In my case she sometimes feels shy or insecure. Sometimes I send her a message from my own phone and from right next to her.
If she's REALLY too busy, you could bridge the time to explore own projects; for example...
- check out that new death metal song
- there are interesting apps; such as loud police sirens, or high-pitch sound generators; also a fart-sound generator is out there.
Make your own phone more interesting to her than her own...
On one side I see it positive when a partner does this - it shows (to me at least) that we are integrated -or embedded- in their regular life rhythm. But if it's getting too much it sure feels a bit unsatisfying.
I would never directly ask my (or any other) lady to reduce her 'communications'; that's a death sentence. But they do appreciate a little effort to be distracted.

@owens97 i mean he should also go to the gadgets and stuff. So they can be on the same wave. Those oldies who can't bear all this gadget stuff just perfectly play Tanks or PUBG on iPad.
