What's the difference between slutty and sexy? And is it even a bad thing to be a slut?

I think slutty is more about behavior than appearance. Women who are sexy in the way they dress and carry themselves are awesome. A slut is someone who is promiscuous, gives blow jobs or bends over in bathrooms at clubs, or does one night stands with strangers just because she is horny.

That being said, I see nothing particularly wrong with sexually active or even promiscuous women. I'm just drawing a line between sexy and slut because I don't want women to be deterred from being sexy.

The word slut is only targeted at women. There is no comparable word to describe sexually active men. The term has its basis in patriarchal attitudes and misogyny.

I once worked with an attractive young woman who started making up funny rhymes like beach bitch, street slut and house hussy to describe herself in a way that was designed to take back the endless list derogatory words like trollop, tramp, strumpet, floozy, whore, harlot, etc. that are only targeted at women She was bright, confident, empowered, had a healthy attitude, and saw nothing wrong with being sexually active. I agree 100%.

I think sexy is more equivalent to attractiveness. Different people find different things sexy. An attitude can be sexy, for instance.

Slutty is simply when a girl seems to throw herself at guys or is very casual about sex. Some guys don't care and might look for this type of girl (though beware, most who do only want someone to sleep with for a night and most will not commit to a girl they think is slutty), but I think a lot of guys will have issues with having a slutty girl as their girlfriend and committing to them, because they wonder if she'll cheat or if she sees them as more than someone to have sex with. Most people have a negative connotation of "slutty" behavior. As far as whether it's a bad thing, it really depends on how much you care about this or not.

A woman can be sexy without having lots of partners.

Sexy is more relaxed, subtle and many times focused on only one person.

Overtly sexual is more trying to garner as much attention a woman can from multiple people and then weeding them out or maybe not weeding them out.

Women are wired differently. Some women are wired to have more partners while others are not. I'd say a woman who is honest how she is if she isn't into monogamy is ok. The woman who lies is not.

You don't need to reveal your body to be sexy. A smile can be sexy, a look can be sexy and an intellectually stimulating conversation can be one of the hottest things ever.

The only thing a woman will attract by dressing slutty is a low quality male that isn't interesting in the least. A guy who is ruled by his dick will either leave you when he's finished in bed or when he finds someone else he likes better. Go for quality.

Depends what you're going for, I personally think it's bad to be a slut, if being a slut is to be sexually promiscuous. In addition to that I feel like women shouldn't dress so provactively in general, slut or not. I get that some women just like to dress in a way they personally find cute or sexy, but women should know that men are very visual creatures. . . Personally I can also definitely find myself attracted to women who don't really show too much, it's just more about feminine features i. e. face, hair, voice, mannerisms, etc. My views tend to lean on the more traditional though, so take that how you will.

No it's not, but the slutty you may constantly get asked out by guys or hassled by guys in the real world especially.

So... it's fun for a woman to show her body off and cleavage and short skirts and classy but sexy stuff... but slutty stuff does put me off.

And I also think the woman eventually gets tired of people thinking she's easy or just in it for a screw when really she wants what everybody else secretly deep down wants: love (a relationship). Whatever you wanna call it.

Classiness. A woman who is classy/ stylish has the allowance to be as permiscous as she wants and some people will still refrain from calling her a slut.

Showing signs of desperation and unprofessional behaviour will quickly find women the tag "slut". The male equivalent may be your 26 year old, smartly dressed, Indian bachelor at the bar with Chivas Regal Whiskey on the rocks. Classy.
