How to deal with a really cocky/overly confident guy?

There's this guy I'm really into in my college classes. he's shown interest in me, but I've noticed he has A LOT of friends that are girls. (but I have a lot of guys that are friends so I don't really care). But he seems really cocky and almost TOO confident.

Maybe I phrased this wrong: he's not CONCEDED. when I talk to him, he never brags or boasts. but by looking at his facebook, he has a ton of girls telling him how cute he is and commenting on everything.

Let this type of guy work for you. Let him make the moves and pursue you. If he won't do it, that shows he's more interested in the path of least resistence (girls that wanna be on his d***) than taking the chance to get to know you. This guy is confident and has social skills. Men with these traits are not scared to approach women, it's just that this particular guy really wouldn't have to unless he felt you were very special. The only way to be different than all the other girls on his d*** is to not be a girl on his d***. Be a little disinterested but still polite. Don't comment on his appearance, he's heard it all before. Get to know him and make him a friend. Pretend that he's an ugly guy you're not interested in romantically and treat him that way. This will intrigue him and make you different from all the other girls

Truth is, I found him to be one of the most selfish people I've ever met. AND, he was constantly looking to me to feed his ego, to tell him that he was amazing and sexy, when I knew on the inside he was incredibly ugly. He was also constantly telling me how he was seeing other women and how he could pick up chicks with the snap of his fingers. How women constantly hit on him. etc.

I wouldn't do it, to be perfectly honest. I can't speak for other people's experiences, but based off my mine, I wouldn't go for a guy like that.

Don't stroke his ego too much. If he gets that from everyone, you are more likely to stand out if you can be fun without constantly sucking up to him. This might not apply to everyone, but as a guy with a lot of female friends who often compliment me on my looks, what really stands out to me is when a girl isn't afraid to poke fun at me.

how can I make sure he doesn't think I'm mean or uninterested though? if I poke fun at him, I wouldn't want him to think "wow what a bitch" ya know?

I don't mean be a jerk to him, just give him a little playful ribbing every once in a while. Get to know his sense of humor a bit to get a gauge on how far you can go.

Of course, you can always take a different route altogether. I was just sharing something that makes a girl stick out to me. Might not work for every guy. Once you get to to know the guy a little better I'm sure you'll find something that sticks out to him.

So, to be frank, you're just like the other girls, into him because of his looks. Trust me, if you did start hanging with him, he KNOWS it's because of his looks. So you even wanting to TALK to him strokes his ego.

i don't do hookups. id like a mature relationships.

and he's not a jerk. he's very nice and respectful. he just happens to have a lot of female friends that tell him he's attractive all the time.

You don't want this guy. If you wanted a hookup I'd say fine. Trust me, guys are typically only as loyal as their options. This guy has many. I assure you if you get involved with this guy it won't last. He can have his pick of girls by the sound of it. It wouldn't take you long to get jealous of all these other girls hitting on him. I'm willing to bet money he'd cheat on you.

I'm telling you - it's like you're setting yourself up for failure. Pick a normal guy.
