Why do girls linger around guys?

Like there’s a girl I work with who will linger around me even though im not talking to her, like she will linger and stare and when we do talk after the conversation drops she will still linger

She may well like you and be trying to get your attention. I've found girls can do that when they like you but they're too shy to act on it.
