How should I deal with this girl?

I know this girl for more than two years. We live in totally different countries. But after I helped her to make a visa we have met for several times when she was visiting my country with her mom (she is a Muslim so she is not allowed to travel alone). In the end she gifted me a cute cup with a text she wrote to me. Though meeting with me wasn't the main reason why she went there.
She used to be my good friend and I really enjoyed chatting with her. I sent her a flower and a cake on her birthday, though she told me that it's a money waste. However, her attitude towards me changed and it seems that she lost interest in talking to me. I understand that she has her own life and a lot of other guys to talk to. She started being cold. Once I tried to talk to her and told her that she is very important for me. But several weeks after that she started to be cold again. I tried to talk to her twice in June after a break in May. But both times she was not too friendly. So I decided not to bother her anymore, deleted almost all her pictures she sent me and her contact. But today she messaged me asking whether I am OK.
My female friend says that this girl just needs me when she is bored and tells me that I need to ignore her. But all this time I couldn't stop thinking about her 😔 Though I know that girls don't like weak guys and don't want to show her that I want to talk to her badly, that I get used to her and I miss her. What should I do? What would you advise me?

I am confused. Are you two friends or more than that?

Because I don't converse with my friends all the time. Not even my female friends. I am not codependent on my friends and I like my privacy. So either she doesn't know you like her. Or she does know it but she doesn't want a relationship so she just checks up on you as a friend. Or yes she is just using you.

But honestly I am confused why a female friend need to always stay in touch! I purposely keep more distance and boundaries with my male friends. Just to be safe that we're not getting too close.

I am not asking her always to stay in touch. During the last four months we were talking normally only once. And like 1 year ago we were talking regularly several times per week.
I don't know about your relationship with your friends and how close you are with them. But me and this girl used to be close friends before

Find another woman to invest your time in and be excited about. That’s what I do when someone treats me like that. You can always find someone who will make you feel the same way this person does.

Well your friend is right she’s only talking to you when she’s bored just stop talking with her i know it's hard to forget someone very special for you but you need to move on you did a great job by deleting her pictures whenever she talks to you leave her answer her the next day or more go out find someone new and maybe find a hobby to pass time and forget about her it helps

Sometimes, i comes in the same situation but my girl never gets cold for days. Its truth she needs you only when she get bored.

As of my experience do ask her clearly where this is gonna head for both of us, and take it from there, if she's willing she'll be there or you move on.
