A girl messaged after not responding to a message 4 months ago, and apologized and explained what was going on, is she interested?

About 4 days before my college closed down and went remote, this girl randomly sat next to me, mid-semester, and started conversing with me. We talked everyday before class. I got her number and we talked for a while, and it was really engaging, but then she moved back to Florida with her parent. We responded a bit after that, and then in May she just didn't respond.

Well, an hour ago she messaged me out of no where and apologized for not responding back and said she had some things going on and asked how I was. I responded with a joke, and asked how she was and what classes she's taking, and she responded with a long message. This went back and forth for about 30 minutes, each message longer than the last, from her. She then told me she responds better on instagram, and asked for my username. After that she said "it was nice catching up with you. Take Care! Have a a nice night."

Her responses were filled with smiley faces and expiration marks and really outgoing messages.
Her abrupt response about catching up is whats throwing me off. Was this all just because she felt bad? Why respond after 4 months? Does Her last message imply she doesn't want to talk any further? Why did she ask for my Instagram and say she responds faster?

you got a catch 22 situation in all liklihood.. she might be interested in her thinking.. but as soon you show interest.. you will have failed the implicit 'shit test', and so she might lose interest and respect for her if you seem eager, as if you had no alternative options, and we're keen for her all this time.

The hearty of a woman, is a fickle beast, many times they are merely toying with possibilities, or building up alternative options for themselves, so they feel more comfortable playing hard to get with other targets they might have in their sights..

I'm sorry man.. but the possibilities are boundless, whatever you do.. do it with the right mind frame, and realize the kind of dynamic that's involved in the female sexual market place, and the excessive amount of leverage they have, and how boring and formulaic it gets for them.. they often end up creating scenarios with no possible outcome, and they are just bored, and looking for attention or validation to pass the time.

sometimes women just like to feel like they can exert control over a guy, like an ego boost, it does sound like maybe she wants you to engage her on Instagram.. which might link up with my earlier theory.. you might be the fodder, to make her seem more 'in demand'... ie. you are the prop in some chase she is trying to manipulative out of some other dudes.. Maybe I'm wrong.. but she might be trying to condition you into being her simp.

She really could be dealing with some things, but I find it strange she chose to re-direct you to her Instagram.

If she had been more straightforward and let you know that she wants more followers, and her social media life is what's most important to her, I think that would have been more respectful than telling you it's because she "responds better there."

I would suggest you cool off your attentions, and let her come to you more often, because re-directing to you to Instagram, seems like a cooling off of personal attention.

It could be that she's trying to do multiple things at once, but I would still cool off your attention, since your goal is not to become her number one fan on Instagram, right?

I think she was talking to some other dude then it didn't work out and she remembered you so decided to start talking to u and the fact that she says she replies faster on instagram means she wants to talk to u more and probably wants to smash you
