I need your thoughts on a situation and if I handled it well?

So I had some random woman message me in a game out of the blue that she wanted to chat with me. So I agreed, the next part of the chat was normal finding out the basics including asking if I was single and had kids.

Then this is what transpired next, and this is the meat of my question.

♀️Her: Are you single?
♂️Me: I have never been married.
♀️Her: Do you have any kids?
♂️Me: No kids.
♀️Her: How old are you?
♂️Me: 53
♀️Her: Wow, but that's not good.
♀️Her: You're becoming an advance aged man and you should have a wife and children if you want your life to be complete.

♂️Me: I am sorry but I don't subscribe to societal norms and I completely disagree that I need to have a wife and children to be complete. I am content with my life and besides that I believe that marriage is just a piece of paper that society has deemed that you have relevance.

Was I wrong in replying this way? I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

So I have received a lot of opinions, most of them I was given great feedback. Yet others not so much and I even BLOCKED someone for the first time since I have been on GaG because they wanted to tear apart what I said about marriage. I believe that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it crosses the line when they tell me that my opinion is wrong and theirs was right. And multiple times said that my thoughts and beliefs are wrong. Therefore POOF they're BLOCKED. ¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯

I had an old friend who was a woman who was the very Sam way she never wanted marriage or children. She lived her life very happily comfortably and had vet many close friends that she made along the way She passed away last year and regretted nothing in her life. I wish you the best and I whole hearted agree that marriage is just a piece of paper giving someone the right to own another person as a piece of property that they can use as a welcome mat leave out in the cold and toss out when they are done using them up.

Many people say that but when they get to be 70 and in failing health and they find they have no kids or grand kids to take care of them and that they will probably die alone in some assisted nursing home they usually wish they had. I may have said something along those lines too.

Yes many people may say that, although nobody knows what my living situation is and to assume that I will be worried about dying alone. I am not worried about dying because everyone on this giant blue orb comes into the world alone and goes out of this world alone too.

She was way, way out of line. I wasn't even there, and I am slightly offended. Who does she think she is?

I met a man like you 4 years ago. last week he cried for the first time ever as an adult. He is regretting not ever having a family/ kids/wife...
this is after he spend time with me n my kids then realized what he missed.

I think your opinion is wrong. Family is the most important institution in society. But the following caught my attention. You replied, "I have never been married." But she continues to ask "Do you have any kids?". So interesting. Lololol

Well you can think my opinion is wrong, although you are not me and I didn't say anything that was any where close to saying that family isn't important. What I said is that is a societal norm for people to be married, and I disagree with this. I am happily single with no desire to be in a relationship even at my age. I don't need a family or wife to be complete in my life.

I had no intention of dictating my opinion to you anyway. If you were read it I just said " 'I think' your opinion is wrong". And also because of people who think like you, immoral people grow around. The number of people who fucked with each other's lovers increased thanks to your idea and people who think like you.
