Is it more common for girls to look at each other or boys to look at each other while in group showers?

1. It is my impression that group showers were used far less in women's facilities than in men's facilities.

2. I know that most guys tend to avoid looking at each other in group showers and locker rooms, and I would feel embarrassed if I was caught looking at another guy (which won't happen because I don't look at other guys in the locker room.)

3. I have no idea how much girls check each other out in group showers and locker rooms, so I have no way of comparing the two genders on that issue.

4. Women know how much they check each other out in group showers and locker rooms but no idea how men are on that dimension, so they have no way of making that comparison, either.

5. So. . . what person would be in a position to have some basis for providing a valid answer to this question?

The first time I experienced it was the transition to middle school. Showers after PE were mandatory. It was 7th grade, so everyone was 12 or soon to be 12. I did my best to mind my own business. Nobody wants to get called out and nobody wants to get caught looking. Or so I thought. Clearly, that wasn’t true. One obnoxious shithead made it a point to comment on nearly every other guy and his idiot friends joined in. Two guys were singled out. My best friend was one of them. It turned out he had a big dick. The other was the son of recent Chinese immigrants. He was not circumcised, which these classmates thought was a birth defect. He was ridiculed.

By the second week of school, the novelty thankfully wore off.

I have NO idea, how much boys look at eachother in the shower during PE, but with the girls it’s pretty much eyes forward (unless there is another girl right in front of you, then it’s eyes down). The only “looking” would be close friends who were just friendly teasing. It’s definitely not a 1980’s politically incorrect sex romp film in the girls showers! But I have NO idea what goes on in the boys showers/locker rooms! Although I honestly couldn’t imagine it would be THAT MUCH different!

I feel like guys are very no homo so would avoid looking at each other. Girls usually have cubicles and a separate section for showers but it depends on the place of course but I’m pretty sure everyone just gets on with their business?
Whenever I went to a communal shower with both girls and boys I looked at faces I guess definitely not bodies but then I got involved in showering and I didn’t.

I think it's way more common for girls to look it's also more excepted.

Men are just not raised desensitized to the male form the way females are.

We see women in commercials for bras, lingerie, feminine products, movies, basically everywhere whereas the male body is hardly displayed anywhere except porn and it's even hard to see there lol.

Girls ofcourse. I wasn't even in a group shower as the shower rooms were divided by a 6.5 feet border, but one girl was literally climbing with the help of small chairs to look at me from the 'above' of that divider. I felt like my privacy was invaded.

And I've never been in the guys locker rooms but I did hear from some that they don't intentionally look but they can't control what they see in their peripheral vision.

I think everyone looks but girls are more open to it and guys are more secretive cuz they always are gay shamed for looking. However in Asian countries where they have group baths often I think everyone looks and no one cares because its just a body. When I was in school I don’t particularly remember “checking” other girls out. I also didn’t know I was bi Beck than. That’s not to say I didn’t look but it wasn’t in a sexual way. I totally would/do now. The gym I belong to has open bay showers in the women’s locker room.

When in a group shower, guys don't look at each other's genitals. Same goes for when using a urinal. Of course, in a group shower, you notice some, because it right in front of you and difficult to not see, but you never, never stare, or stop to take a look.

Speaking as a guy. We don’t look at each other at all. If we go into a urinal we don’t speak we just stare at the wall. Same thing happens in the shower get in do what you need to do leave you don’t talk. If you did it would be construed as gay... and most guys would feel really uncomfortable in that situation. I’ll observe in the two tests for the experiment. I’ll look in the girls locker room take notes. Just to be sure my data is accurate and reliable results I will be doing a blind test. Generally in a group shower boys don't look unless they are tired of life. Thankfully my school always scheduled sports as the last sessions of a day so I always went home to shower. When I went to the gym as an adult I did the same.
