Do couples often shower together?

Question

I never showered with either of my previous girlfriends, but apparently, it's quite common. I know one co-worker shares a bedroom and shower with his girlfriend of 4 years to save on water/electricity. Another does the same thing.
For those of you who do, does it always turn sexual or is it only done every now and then? Is there also a practical reason for it?

I recently spent a month with my long distance boyfriend who is also my first boyfriend and after a few days of finally getting into the physical stuff with each other (we'd been long distance for a year and a half already so the wait was agonizing) we started taking showers together. Not every day, but whenever we were in the mood or really lovey and not feeling like spending 20 minutes apart haha. Now that we're long distance again we sometimes mention how we miss the showering together. I'd wash his hair and body for him and he'd wash my body because my thick hair is difficult for him to manage haha. I would guess that our showers turned sexual about 2/3 of the time. Also at the end of the month we had sex for my first time ever and showered together after. It was really sweet.

My husband and I shower together almost every night, right before we hop into bed. It might save water, I'm not sure because we're usually in there twice as long as alone. It's our "alone" time when no one is going to call, drop by, or interrupt our conversation. It's a time of bonding and intimacy, I wash him and he washes me I love the feeling of him washing my hair and washing his. It leads to sex sometimes, like usually a quicky, better bring some lube in because the water will wash hers right down the drain!

I shower with my husband every evening... it's our chance to unwind and catch up on our days, we have a Bluetooth speaker on the wall and just kind of laugh, make jokes and shimmy around. It's rarely sexual, maybe once every two weeks it'll turn to that but otherwise it's just a nice little "us" bubble

Yes. There's of course the sexual element but it's nice also have someone to wash your back. It's a pain in the ass if the shower is too small. My girlfriend's parents are loaded they have a shower in their ensuite that can fit six people with a tv/radio, seats and four shower heads. We used it for some kinky play while her folks were out of town. They also have a hot tub, and sauna.

Some couples do it occasionally as a prelude to sex but I don't think many couples do it routinely to save in their water bill.

I 🚿 with my boyfriend. Usually before we have sex but sometimes after. I mean we sometimes shower just cuz we feel like it. Lately I have been sick and he just helps me in the shower. I had a interview and he washed me because I was sick. We usually just shower. We have had sex like 2x in the shower. It's nice 2 have someone else wash you. Doesn't always have 2 b sexual.

Sometimes, but not if I'm in a hurry. It doesn't always lead to sex, but it's nice having someone pamper you or vice versa. And if does lead to something sexual, well it's a win-win.

Let me just say: shower sex is terrible. Don't let anyone tell you differently. Its just too crammed and there isn't a lot to grab, and for some reason water is NOT the right kind of wet XD. That being said, I love showering with my boyfriend. Its very bonding, plus it's easier when he washes my back :)

To me, its like a kinda erotic/romantic kind of thing. Also, can be kinda inconvenient - someone blocking the water, agreeing on temperatures, elbows and knees and shit in a tight space, etc.
