What's wrong with my wife?

My wife has been very upset over everything she got a mean message on Instagram the other night from some stupid teenager she blocked her but she's still worried. She cried when she saw on Facebook that a firefighter had died she doesn't even know him. Not only that yesterday she broke down crying for no reason I think getting that message probably messed her up. Last night she ran over to my friend and hugged him and cried. He's her best friend too. She's has had it rough the past 2 years she lost her husband she recently put her son up for adoption so he doesn't live here anymore. She even cries when we have sex. I try everything to get her to talk to me or my friend but she won't. How can I make her feel better? What's wrong with her?
