Why do Girls want to play hard to get when they are interested in a guy?

I don't know why , some girls wanna play hard when they are interested in a Guy? Personally i have seen this and let me tell you one thing in most of the Cases it doesn't work. See literally speaking we guys are not good enough to catch your mixed signals. At some point you may give us a lots of Signals. Then we are preparing in our mind to just talk with you. But then when you try to play hard... then we start to doubt ourself that maybe she is not interested in me, i may have this wrong opinion that she likes me or interested in me.
So we can't take a move. I know girls like the guys who can confidently approach to them but there is no rules written that " A guy will take a move First". As an shy guy... it is a bit hard for us to take a first move if a girl i like... maybe if she takes the first move then it would be much easier to me to approach them.

Sometimes it’s because she is shy, sometimes it’s because she has been hurt and needs to know for sure that you like her. She isn’t purposefully trying mess with you, she is trying to make sure her feelings are protected before she decides whether or not to give you a chance.
She may not fully believe you like her, no matter how much attention you give her and she might not know how to react to the way you are with her.
There can be a number of reasons that aren’t as simple as “playing hard to get”
There are some who women do like the attention, but aren’t sure if they want to date you. There is always that chance.

She if she is 100% sure you like her, and 100% sure she likes you, it’s pretty straight forward.
Remember that women are not mind readers either. If you aren’t straight up asking her out, or at least putting clear moves on her, She isn’t going to know what’s going on with you.

I used to do this!

It's actually all, advice from the internet or teen magazines, because we really want you to like us and we try, even though it might embarrass us.
We just want you to notice us and... not some other girl. So, we tease you guys because we want you to like us.
Then, we wait... because that magazine said to wait for him to make a move.
It doesn't work usually... So we try again and again. But it doesn't work. So we give up.
At least, thats my own personal experience.

Biology strikes again :p Testing you for weakness. I deal with this by going hot / cold & you never seen some someone go hot / cold until you've seen a Virgo man doing it. At that point I don't care if I get laid by that particular woman or not. I think she's wanting to play games with my heart; I'm not the most forgiving in that aspect. You can learn from them. Start testing them instead & see if they measure up once you've invested in yourself. I can tell you from experience they don't seem to like it either. I have some that hate me to this day although they failed that test 20 years ago..

Please don't speak for everyone. That's only insecure guys' problem. So work on your confidence. Maybe start by admitting it's your problem, not everyone's problem.

How women behave is product of millions of years of evolution and you beg them to change that? Don't you see the desperation? No girl is going to play hard to get and then regret when they didn't get the guy. They see it as getting rid of weak candidate.

Speaking from own experience. Wouldn’t say “Playing hard to get” more so stand-off ish, not jumping in too soon. It keeps men away that only want to get in your pants. They lose interest fairly quickly once they realize they have to actually put effort in and get to know you. A man worth your time is going to pursue you and put the time and effort into getting to know you. After observing and realizing he isn’t just another fuckboy I’ll match his energy and show my interests in him (reading some of the mens responses to this question no not all women are focused on money when “playing hard to get”)

It’s not a matter of playing hard to get. At least for me, personally it’s a matter of protecting my feelings. I don’t wanna feel like I’m more interested or investing more than he is. Realising I’m ahead of him and end up getting hurt. If a girl starts taking the initiative to ask him out too many times I know some guys fall into the lazyness of never being the ones taking the initiative. They start taking the girl for granted so they don’t need to work for it and that is frustrating. I feel I’m the only one interested that if it weren’t for me making plans you wouldn’t.

If I’m not interested in a guy I’ll let him know but I if I am I try to let him know too, but I never try to come on too strong when I am because I feel like coming on WAY too strong makes a person look desperate or might scare the potential partner away.

I'm quite direct person and I will say what's on my mind (depending on certain cases) however, I get where you are coming from I have girlfriends that like doing it because they like to see if the guy can catch up or to see if the guy is playful. Sometimes when girls are straightforward they can be slut-shamed or judged. There are also a lot of things that are engraved into our heads, such as a partner having to work for it to show that they really want to be with you.

Bottom line, the girl is most likely trying to say no, but this person is just not accepting it and growing it into something it’s not. The above scenarios were if she actually were to not be so into a relationship right away.

Women like that believe that their body and their time spent on a man are their best assets. Not necessarily true, of course. I consider this to be a form of low self esteem covered over with delusions reinforced by media. It certainly dose not help them in the long run.
