I honestly would rather hide on my birthdays. So much pressure on you to be happy and entertain. My ideal birthday would be to run away on my kayack for the entire day. With my youngest daughter... and maybe boyfriend lol.

Thank you all so much for your warm wishes and kind words. Just been a tough year and I honestly hate birthdays... lol. but again thank you so much it really helped make my day. Sorry for lateness of reply but I worked into 230pm then went for a kayack with family over to friends beach front house for diner. They kept my kids and now my boyfriend and I are relaxing alone.. for first time in a long time About to go to bed to end this day on a perfect note... much love to you all. Xo

But answering your question, not really. It's just another normal, everyday 24hour-period for me: wake-up, go to work, come home, relax, and go to bed. It's my loved-ones who go out of their way to try to make it special, so I go along and enjoy. Without them, I actually tend to forget my birthday altogether.

OMG, you're an old bag, now!! Just kidding, I don't believe in that shit!! You're only as old as you feel. Dad looked 20 years younger than 81 when he died, grandma just turned 89 a month before she died and didn't look more than 50! I feel like I'm still only 26!!
Depends how I feel lol. Harder to enjoy when you are older. But the once a year I feel special lol fml. Good excuse for ne to get friends together to have fun and celebrate. I'm Turining 40 in September.. Depressing because I havnt found anyone to share life with. But chin up, right.

Happy Birthday!!! I get some days where I dislike celebrating but it means a lot to my family to get together. Try to find something small for yourself to enjoy!

Of course everybody responds "Happy Birthday!" because they're all idiots who can't read. If they had any sense they would know that you're just one year closer to death and growing old is full of misery and suffering. But people don't give a crap about reality. Your soul speaking to you when it said to get away from all that bull crap. There comes a time when you need to prepare for death, just as you would a birthday party. More people should aim to think and do like you do My birthdays mostly bring me down because I don't have my parents around. @Still-alive my reply while he was calling people idiots over saying happy birthday, was that he was lucky to wake up breathing, a birthday is something to celebrate for the little things you have. i work with ill and cancer patients etc and most aren't lucky enough to see a next birthday like kids cancer patients a lot i have worked with never made their 20s
I used to like birthdays, but now I’m 65, and don’t really care. It’s not so much the number of years I have, it’s just that my body’s falling apart, and I can’t do some things I used to do.
40 is not old, if you think your self old, then you are old but if you are mentally and physically fit and strong, and don't consider old then you are young, may be better than sick people of 30
I have hated birthdays since my first one and I am now 70. LOL I remember my 40th birthday, it sucked. And my body went to heck not long after, or as I like to say the warranty expired at 40.

Don't worry about it. So many celeb woman look gorgeous even over 50 and they aren't worried. Workout, eat healthy, do for your looks. You still look attractive by the way, and 40 is still young in my opinion.
