Anyone else hate their birthday?

Just turned 27 haven’t had a good birthday since I was 19 every year my friends or family let me down. Just turned 27 today what’s the first thing my mom does in the morning argue with me like fuck her so now the days ruined just a reminder that I hate my birthday. This post is mostly a rant cause I’m sad

I do. I never was big on birthdays for myself, as I prefer to celebrate in small ways (a nice family BBQ, Brunch out with friends, bonfire and drinks, etc)

I'm sorry your mother began your birthday off on such a sour note! That really sucks, and I've been there before myself. Don't let one instance ruin your entire day though, you won't ever get to relive the same day, so try to do something fun for yourself, or do something YOU like.

I was alone for my birthday one year, so I ordered a cake delivery and enjoyed it while watching my favourite movie, and staying up late into the night, so I could go for a midnight walk with my dog and star gaze :) Sometimes it's the little things you do that make things a lot better.

yes. but i don't care if people don't remember my birthday. i used to feel like that. but now i don't care. it's just another day. and if i was really upset, i'd just celebrate myself and get myself a treat and allow myself to do what i want.

I haven't done birthdays since my 14th... when I had to give permission to the vet to euthanise my feline brother, who had been with me almost my entire life. That is all that day is to me now: the anniversary of Gawain's death.
I wish vets were allowed to euthanise humans too... I'd have gone in for it decades ago.

My mother is mentally unstable, bless her heart. So I left home at age 17. I’d rather be homeless than live with her. And I’ve worked 5-6 jobs to support myself and I’ve even been homeless a couple times. You can do it guy
