How to avoid staring at a girl?

So today at work I got notified by my supervisor that someone complained that I stared at her and made her uncomfortable (I had no idea I was making her uncomfortable, even if I was relaxed). I guess tbh I thought she was cute and I was looking at her just for like 3-5 seconds because I wanted to catch her eye and look for signals. But im always hesitant to even talk to girls, even when one does smile back. Of course, just because a girl smiles doesn't mean she's interested right off the bat. The point is im always hesitant to even do anything and then I get anxious and walk away, carrying on as if nothing really matters (love Queen). I dont want to make the same mistake with another girl so I need to learn from this and grow. I know girls are just human beings and they're just as nervous as us guys are. When is the right time to talk to a girl anyway? By fate? By serendipity? Whatever. Maybe the universe will make something random happen and ill run smack into a girl, which I've been waiting for 11 years now.

I would leave that one alone if she complained. She is obviously not interested. As for the rest of us, just approach girls as if she was a friend. Strike up casual conversation and build from there. You have to build a foundation. No girl is going to fall head over heels from the first sentence that rolls out of your mouth unless she is already hard into you, which you would know.

Exactly! Get to know her. Her likes, dislikes, etc. Have some fun together. Do things you know she likes or makes her happy. The rest will come naturally. If you ask her out and she says no, don’t worry about it. Not the end of the world. But if you start building that foundation, chances are you will be able to feel out whether she will want to date or be involved romantically.

You will have to control it. A glance will not be deemed by anyone as creepy. To avoid prolonged stares, try to move your head away. One hack I use is a fake scratch on my neck as if it itches. It works for me.

My mentor told me not to even close the door if I have to meet with a female colleague or to call HR if I have to meet with a girl privately. I told him, no prob, I won't date chicks from work. He said that wasn't enough, I cannot even look like I like somebody. Keep your eye forward at all times he told me. And never talk about personal stuff, even if they ask. It's crazy, but I wanna keep climbing so I gotta do it.
