A woman at my workplace began flirting with me heavily. Constant touching every time she saw me, dressing up, long conversations, interest in what I say, high emotions, etc. Knowing that she was going to a company event, I decided to show up and go for her.
She followed me around and talked to me for the entire time. We asked each other questions. She seems to remember every detail I've told her weeks in the past. She seems very happy to get to know me better.
When it's time to go, I go for the number saying I'd like to get to know her better. She says "Only as friends." WTF? What'd I do wrong? Hahaha. She explained she was a lesbian and always has been (I have confirmed this).
Now, this is all fine, but what in the world was with all that flirting and pretending to be interested? Why would a lesbian want MALE attention? Note: she wants to keep her lesbian identity secret. I did decline her 'friendship' because she won't explain to me what her intentions were.
Here are my guesses:
1) She likes manipulating men for work, sport, and entertainment, and doesn't want knowledge of her being 'lesbian' get out which would ruin it.
2) She hates men and likes seeing them in pain.
3) She says that since she knew I was alone, all this flirting and all was to 'be nice' to me. But that doesn't compute. Wouldn't that be the opposite of nice? I'd consider it cruel.
4) Was she testing that I was gay too?
5) Maybe she desires a male friend intimacy.
I don't know. Does anyone here have any ideas why lesbians flirt with men? They have to know that the men are going to ask them out.
