Is it new when girls actually punch each other during a fight?

I saw a fight between two women not so long ago. They went from slapping each other 3 times until one apparently got tired of it and threw the first punch. Then the other girl punched back.

All of the sudden it turned into a fist and kicking fight. It ended even with both of them somewhat bloodied. Both had to get separated because it was getting bad. This wasn't the typical catfight thing where one girl gets humiliated. This was a real brutal one.

Is this new to you? When you actually girls fighting each other with fist and being brutal?

It's not common. For the most part it's because not many women know how to throw a punch. Of course not many guys know how to throw a punch or where to strike to the point that the man landing a solid blow ends up with broken knuckles.

True. What I do notice is there is still a difference even when girls punch each other. Generally the guys form a posture (warm up) and square each other before fighting. They fight to see who is the best, sort of like an alpha thing. The one winning at some point then stops when his opponent is down; he already proved that he's the stronger one. Then sometimes, they can talk it out afterwards and befriend each other.
In comparing to these two girls, they just wanted to beat the hell of one another (no warm up, no ''lets see who is strongest'', no logic, no nothing) wouldn't have stopped if not separated. Even when separated and bloodied, they wanted to still break free and go for more. Wow.

and lastly nope, there was no making peace nor hand shaking after those women fought. I heard they still hate each other.

So yeah that's interesting... they fought like guys but their fight was still disorganized, emotionally and illogical. It's like they were fighting for the hell of it. Unlike when you guys fight, there is actually a point and reason behind it.

Not new. Girlfights usually result in slaps, humiliations, and sometimes even fisticuffs in my country; but one or two girlfights have turned tragic. In one incident two girls fought for the affections of a boy; the mother of one of the girls intervened and was stabbed with a knife, an injury that proved fatal.

yeah it seems that this has been going on for some time lately. I have to admit this isn't the first time I've seen this. It seems to be a growing trend apparently.
