Girls, would you be happy with a man that makes $47,000 a year?

My concern is what is he doing for the future. That is important to me. Being single, if it is good for him, that is good for him. However, what does a woman have anything to do with that? That is the question. Because here is how I personally see it and what questions I would ask a man before even thinking about dating him:

1. If a man is making that much what is he going to do if the relationship gets serious? I am not talking about just hanging out. I mean if and when the person decides to be exclusive? Because cohabitation is a dealbreaker.
2. If I were to consider dating that person, which would have been my friend for a very long time, is he going to work towards getting a higher income? How is this going to work when it comes down to marriage and children?
3. DOES he want to get married and have kids? If not, that is another dealbreaker.
4. Is he one of those types that don't want to wear the pants in the relationship? Is he even READY for a relationship? 5. Is he prepared to handle a mortgage and paying property taxes for a home if he doesn't already have one? If so, how is he making it with that level of income? <- No personal judgment here, I am just curious. 5. Does he have 401K in place? Retirement set? Benefits? What would be his plan for beneficiaries (though that topic can be talked about when talks of marriage happens), but I would ask this so I can see where his mentality and level is at?
5. Is he willing and prepared to work for the sake of his family if we were to get married?
6. How would he handle family emergencies?
7. If he cannot get any more in his field, is he going to go back to college, trade school, or vocational for a degree, certificate, etc? Even if it's online. I want and to need to know what is his plans are.
8. Does he have debt I should know about?
9. Any priors?
10. What was he taught regarding finances in his childhood, mentors, etc? 11. Are you prepared to work doubt shifts or get another job to put food on the table, pay bills, etc?

You have to have a future in place here. I right now have 0 income, and when I worked I barely made anything other than close to 10k and that is all I ever made my entire life. So while I cannot judge, I however do KNOW and had real estate classes to know that having a marriage, home, etc is a major responsibility. I need to know these things so I can know what to expect and whether or not that is a relationship I should be involved in. Life is hard. But the last thing I need is confusion, hurt, being lied to or accused of taking a man's money or advantage of him.

I am a traditional woman, but I am also not afraid to work for my family. Just never had a real chance to. And before anybody questions me and my intent. My intent is to make sure I can provide myself for a family and for my husband. I need to know where I fit into this and why me? I need to know what my future is going to look like with that person. To know I am financially safe, is mentally and emotionally safe. Not just physically safe. To know that my children will not lack for naught and that I have a protector. Somebody who is not afraid of doing what needs to be done. To make sacrifices.

It is more than just making a person happy. YOU FIRST must be happy and have something in place for a woman to want to be there. Just make sure you are careful who you date and not just advertise. ESPECIALLY if you have a weakness for women sexually. Because a lot of these women will act like their "traditional" and they're using you for everything. Traditional women also have a desire to work too if they have to. But if you claim you want to take care of us, then o what you say you will do and not blame us if we pick you but is angry about us "living off of you". So my fair warning; make sure you are prepared to answer these questions for yourself because you never know who/what you may encounter. I ask because I already know the answer to all of these questions. And I know most people do not bother asking them either which is very sad.

I could be happy with a man that makes 0 dollars a year and I could also be happy with man that makes a million a year. It doesn't really matter to how much money a guy makes considering that it doesn't lead to happiness in a relationship.

I've met a lot of women in real life who have an income requirement. I doubt any woman would date a man who makes $0.

Fair enough. Unless you were in college at the time and now he has a high paying job. I went to trade school to become a draftsman and I thought it would be enough. I didn't have anyone to help pay for a four year degree.

We were in high-school but also had a baby too. We made it work for our family even though neither of us worked. And no college he went into the military. College is a waste of money in my opinion. You probably did the right thing. What you make is good enough
