I mean, if the 'beating' looked relatively benign I'd walk straight up and try to diffuse the situation. I'm quite good in emergency situations, and can adjust my tone from charming to terrifying as necessary. There is a good chance she'd leave or calm down. If things escalated I'd call the police or get help. The rest depends on circumstance - if he's injured, I'd have to attend to that. Help him with shock etc. Later I'd ask him what happened, but the first thing would be to ensure his safety as far as possible.

Cheers to you. The instructor that said that could be a stand up comedian. He was so awesome.

He was a rather small guy, but knew all the tricks, and could handle himself in any situation. He was the boss of his team. He said that one of his guys was built like a moose, and he went out on an arrest, and hit a guy so hard with ONE punch, that he knocked him unconscious.

He said that the moose had to go in front of a panel and explain why he hit the guy that hard. (excessive force)

The boss guy said to us in the audience: "When the moose was finished with the review board, he had to answer to ME! I said to him: 'Why in the fuck did you ONLY hit him once?' "

All of us sitting on the mats were crying in laughter. The guy was so funny.

But these guys worked for the Department of Corrections, and they had to go out and find people who escaped from prison, or failed to report to their parole officer.

These aren't the nicest people on the planet, and sometimes you have to hit them pretty hard. LOL

Well I mean, it really depends on what he's done. If he insulted the woman without no reason or touched her inappropriately I'd be very disappointed of him. But if she started beating him out of nowhere, I'd try to stop her or call the cops.
Kind of a weird question, I gotta admit.
Men are physically a bit stronger than women so he could probably defend himself but I'd help if the situation was that bad.
